Plot twist. The dead guy in the last panel is the murderer, and he’s just faked his own death. Thus getting away consequence free after murdering 499 people.
Question, does that mean 250 people were framed and went to jail. Or did the series go 250 episodes without a single satisfying bad guy catch.
You know, that makes me think of a really interesting spinoff, Imagine if someone made dexter, from the perspective of a non dexter character. (IE Oh I think we’re close to catching the serial killer, and… he’s vanished off the face of the earth… oh shit the murderer was one of our detectives… and he’s already dead. Oop another serial killer, and he’s gone.
Alright Ms. Christie

I like that theory.
For the greater good!
I always thought Murder, She Wrote should have ended with someone figuring out that Angela Landsbury was a serial killer who had been framing people the whole time. No other explanation for why so many people die when she is around.
“Only Murders In The Building” made a few jokes to this effect.
Psych too
Santa Barbra murder capital of the world!
Cabot Cove is the murder capitol of the US.
We all know Jessica Fletcher killed them and blamed some hapless Townie because of the completely incompetent Sheriff
murder she committed
The cast of Brokenwood all crack jokes around this.
If you want to live in Brokenwood it’s critical to not have any hobbies, belong to any clubs or extra curricular activities, or go hunting.
I need to get back to that series!
In Detective Conan, a Japanese murder mystery anime aimed at a younger audience, the police chief started to refer to one of the detectives (Mori) as a shinigami (god of death) because murders keep happening near him.
