I’m just thinking about my own experience, but my parents are blue collar Democrats, so no they didn’t. They just worked hard their whole lives and are enjoying their well earned retirement.
Boomers are a large group of people, hence the name, from diversified backgrounds. I believe people are trying to start a generational war where we need a proper class war.
In my experience an unexpected light on your dashboard is about $1000 minimum at the dealership. I fear for the owner.

They used to be pretty common in tech (at least where I’m at).
Rather than paying a larger salary, the company makes part of the annual comp a bonus. Then if they do poorly that year they can say “sorry folks, times were tough this year. But hey, you still have a job!”
People do tend to expect them after a few years of receiving them regularly. The taxes on them are generally worse (or at least feel worse since it is a lump sum), but otherwise a little money in your pocket around the holidays is nice.

It depends on how much gravity you put into the word “earned”.
The robots probably wouldn’t stop with the other robots. For example, if Israel had remote piloted robot warriors do you think they would only attack and kill other robots? They would just send them into Palestine, slaughter the “hostiles” and wouldn’t bat an eye.
Even if you wanted some proprietary tech installed in your body, it seems like such a terrible idea. What happens when the thing is obsolete? What happens if there is a bug? What happens when Elons team didn’t consider some edge case or basic engineering principles? What is to prevent them from doing something unethical once it is installed?

I’m sure to almost all, it is a euphemism. Although I’d also bet there are some people in Florida and Alabama who believe it is a literal virus that is spreading like wildfire through college campuses.
