Plenty of objectively smart people succumb to conspiracy theories. I am almost certain you have unfounded beliefs that when scrutinised make no logical sense.
Often it is just that a person has been disenfranchised and in a vulnerable position where seizing upon a conspiracy theory gives them a sense of control, community and power.

The YouTube video linked in a reply to the parent comment does a good job of explaining but the short version is that he signed over the company to a charity that his family controls to avoid a tax payment.
There’s basically nothing charitable about it because it literally enshrines political power within his family forever as the charity structure allows political donations to be made through it.
The video also makes the point that you can never accidentally find yourself a billionaire. At some point you’ve fucked people over to get and keep yourself a billion+ dollars.

Charities don’t actually do this directly. It’s clever marketing on their part.
Your money is pooled like every donation and it could be used to fund vaccines like this.
It’s how you avoid one million people just buying vaccines rather than funding a fresh water well for example.
People in poverty should not have an existence dependent on the whims of charitable donations.
