Let them enforce their decision, then.
Look, I don’t really want a civil war or constitutional crisis, but under no circumstances should we have let the republicans proceed as they have.

Calling him a traitor on the campaign trail isn’t the same as actually enforcing the law, at gunpoint if need be. Laws don’t matter if they’re not enforced. They should be physically removing the republicans from office.
I would have liked them to push on how Trump and a bunch of other republicans are not eligible for office because of the insurrection. Go for blood. Refuse to acknowledge that that these people hold office.
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
We really should be organizing to fight the right wing, because they’re pretty unified.
It does feel like unrest is coming. I don’t want to live in a world with car bombs in the US, but I do want all the republicans dead, so.
What’s frustrating is people seem to just forget history, so we’ll have to keep doing this kind of thing.
Also today we do have systems like social security.
Not for much longer at the rate things are going.
There is truth here.
I think rich people will have assets, like stock, and they’ll get a loan out with the stock as collateral. They pay like 2% on the loan, but they get like a million dollars cash. If that was treated like income, they’d pay a lot more taxes.
Not sure the best way to address this, but it should be addressed.
I feel like if we had spent the money lost to tax cuts on enforcing existing laws, like really throw the book at tax cheats, like put them in orange jumpsuits and make them rot in a cell, we’d have had better outcomes.
The ultra rich should be afraid.
Many people don’t really think about their language. They kind of snap their phrases together like a child with those big duplo blocks.
Most of the time that’s fine, if a bit limiting. But occasionally you get glimpses into how communication could be clearer, or more accurate, if they thought about their words more.
I partly blame our public education system. Not enough funding, some funding misused, other problems I don’t even know about. But it feels like a lot of people are barely educated, and don’t have any intellectual curiosity.
Poe’s law. Can’t tell if serious or playing a bit.
Yeah but like if they find it was fraud are they going to do anything about it? More than a slap on the wrist? Like, jail time? A public hanging? Probably nothing, as usual. but I can hope.
I think there’s a little bit of nuance, at least. Like refusing to call a nazi salute a nazi salute, or excessive use of passive voice (eg: “A man was killed after an encounter with the police”). Those things aren’t making the world better.
A heady mix of stupidity and treason
I took a like journalism 101 course in college as an elective, and we had a couple lessons on this. One of them, the teacher gave us a bunch of websites and was like “Tell me which of these are legitimate.” Some were crackpots, some were satire, some were just weird news. When we went over the assignment in class, we talked about strategies for figuring it out.
I think a lot of people never had that class, or they slept through it.
Sometimes I’m really optimistic about humanity, but sometimes I remember the stupidest kids from school. No attention span. No curiosity. A lot of them are probably out in the world making decisions right now.
It might come to that. People should organize and arm now. Even though that’s kind of hard and scary and I don’t know where to begin.
“Why should I care about other people?” is a question that comes up a lot, and I am deeply suspicious of people who don’t care about others.
Everyone is dangerous.
Kind of shitty to oppose systemic changes that would help them and reduce danger
You don’t want to see them because you want them to be housed, or you want them to be forcibly moved so they’re unhoused out of sight?
The government should be doing more for the housing crisis, but a first step for that is getting people aware of the issue and on board with solutions.
Probably also need to really invest in education. People don’t just magically know political theory, and a lot of bad ideas can sound good at first
Interestingly enough, it’s mostly the right wing that is anti education.
I want republicans dead. That’s not really practical but that’s what I want. Every republican up against the wall. The big players can get a guillotine.
More practically? Probably impeachment proceedings, noncompliance, fillibuster, malicious compliance, push hard to the left and sell people on a future that’s not climate collapse and wage slavery.
