Anything can be political but doesn’t have to be. A good technology sub would look something like this:

• New 10TB SSD announced at trade show
• Holograms are slightly better after new breakthrough
• GTA6 preorder numbers are out, will it save the PS5?

And instead it became a shitflinging cesspool of:

• Elon tweeted something stupid at 2am last night
• AOC said something about net neutrality
• Congressional republicans announced a tech bill that has no chance of becoming law

No it isn’t. This is how subs like r/technology got ruined, the whole thing got filled with “political post that involves technology” instead of just “technology”.

We are all drops of water that make up an ocean. Billionaires are important too but it’s also the fault of lazy people who put old TVs on the sidewalk instead of ewasting them. Everyone’s actions add up.

I agree with that too, US politics since Obama’s win has been “status quo” vs “desire for reform” and the D’s lost 2016/2024 by being on the wrong side. But you’re ignoring my entire comment and that’s a big factor in current attitudes as well. Winning the election on legit issues doesn’t mean you get a free pass for bad behavior.

I sympathize with a lot of your points but this is what you’re doing ITT:

• Make the most toxic person in the world your party leader
• His example encourages your voters to spread unprecedented amounts of hostility and lies for 8 years
• Go on the internet and act super polite, as if you’ve done nothing wrong and the D’s are all crazy for not being nice to you anymore

R’s are never going to get any reconciliation until they at least admit to the shitstorm they’ve caused (and have just chosen to extend another 4 years). But I don’t see that happening on a party level. All they do is very occasionally say something like “both sides are getting too heated, let’s cool off a bit” which accepts no real responsibility and changes nothing.

My grandparents from one side of the family left me nothing, and the other side left two weeks rent. I know the direct descendants come first but at least give the grandkids 15% or something, it would have helped so much. We’re all working twice as hard to afford half the lifestyle our parents had

At my last WFH job my daily setup was firefox, sublime text, slack (electron app), github desktop (also electron), and 3 terminals, one running a local dev server. It all ran fine.

Am i the only one who still has no problems with 8GB? Not that I wouldn’t be happy with more but i can’t remember the last time I’ve even thought about ram usage
