Cake day: June 9th, 2023

  • I hosted a jam night where only one person besides my roommate and their partner showed up. We made the most of it anyway!

There was a boardgame night years ago at one of those game pubs where only four of us showed up. Despite not being a group that would normally hangout we were all friends enough and had a great time. Instead of boardgames we got cheap food and then cake and hot chocolate.

    Every friend starts a stranger.

Given the context of the recent heroic event it’s important to remember that not only is it not the baker putting up the barrier but it is someone who actually probably can’t even do their job of doing nothing very well.

Killing the baker may lead to a problem where the bread runs out, but I suppose it’s also a good example of how baking is not magic and we could figure it our well enough to not need to put up with someone who would willingly let people starve.

I’m gunna imagine this was you asking to get it perfect instead of close enough? ‘Cause then I can see them trying to help and the sound being a little tricky.

From my experience it seems like people, in general, would just rather a barely approximate attempt. The guy in the comic isn’t even trying to get it right and if they are then I’m sorry but they are profoundly stupid. It’s english words smashed together, we have the sounds and not even getting close is honestly pathetic.

  • Hell so many of them saw that and went “ooh maybe I can be like that someday!”

But yea, relativistic morality is a fuckin’ cancer and I hate it and the braindead people who suck so bad at life they need to find excuses like that for their shitty behaviour.

Right? I don’t make a lot but I’m lucky to have support and I do(normally) make more than twice minimum wage. Whenever someone says that I should change jobs if I want more money I seriously consider pushing them infront of traffic.

My last bosses said, and I quote, “we are not responsible for paying for your lifestyle” in response to a Google Doc I shared showing how the salary they offer for my office job was grossly underpaying me and I was being quite generous. It’s like, what the fuck do they think a salary is? It’s literally the monetary compensation that someone gets which provides the lifestyle that we expect a given job should support.

All these bosses have been told how special they are for way too long and they seem to think that we actually enjoy working for them so much that our salaries are more like a nice bonus.

  • Met a homeless guy once who had had his jaw broken over some change. Even he was able to go to the hospital to get fixed up. It didn’t solve his myriad other problems but at least even he could get that taken care of.

Any system which would have turned him away should be burned to the ground and the people who built said system should have the flesh flayed from their bones, slowly.
