Mine didn’t. Gave it all to my golden child sister.
I don’t think I’ve ever been diagnosed other than the fact that I can smell things others can’t. I can smell when people are sick. Cancer has a smell. I sometimes I encounter people and don’t know what the smell is but know they are sick. I can smell cockroaches in a house. Even if you can’t see them I can smell them in the walls. All in all I would choose to have just a regular sense of smell since many perfumes and those damned plug in air freshener just smell like noxious chemicals to me. Its just like walking in a room and someone is screaming. Only I’m the only one there that can hear it. Not fun.
Special? Its like a disability. I don’t know about the like or dislike but I’m pretty sure super tasters are not that common.
They still do exist. You can buy them at just about any store in the US. Mine are fifty year old Tupperware salt and pepper shakers. They may outlast the universe.
They were disposable salt and pepper shakers. I know you think it saves money but you can bet some bean counter at corporate did the math to prove that wrong.
Now we know what terrorizes those weaklings.
If you are a super taster, broccoli taste like grass smells. At least for me and my daughter. Its so bitter that I threw up one time when I was a kid being forced to eat it. So lets accept that to someone with a lesser/different sense of taste/smell its okay. To those of us who can smell when someone has been in their house five hours after they left it taste completely different. So no thanks I don’t want to eat grass.
Not even remotely the same but in the 90’s mcdonalds still had salt and pepper shakers on the tables. I knew a guy who loved throwing them in the bag when he got up from the table along with the ten straws he grabbed and wad of napkins. He really was under some serious financial stress in no way due to anything he had done. I refused to use the salt and pepper shakers at his house and he kept bugging me as to why. I told him he didn’t want to know but he insisted. Finally I told him about the time I saw some kids going from table to table licking the tops of the shakers. He immediately threw them all away. Later they started to reappear and it was because he figured out at the first of the month they replaced them and the new one usually had the seal left on them.
Before you trash the guy for doing that. The guy made 80 grand one year and could barely afford food. All that money went to paying his wife’s medical bills. She had grown up inside the boundary of a superfund site out in new mexico and had all kinds of tumors and other problems. It was called a pre existing condition and his insurance wouldn’t pay for hardly anything. They finally divorced so she could get SSI. That was in the early 2000’s. This country sucked then and it still sucks.
Worse than that they staff doctors in name only. The type of quacks who couldn’t make it in the real medical world. I really don’t understand how they can’t be sued for malpractice when they argue a diagnosis with your doctor. At that point they are acting as your doctor.
This has a distinct onion flavor.
We bamboozled ourselves. The Brits woke up to the fact the metric system was better and changed. Sure they still have their idiots who like the old system there but they ignore them. Whereas here we let that small minority rule. That is why we are using a broken old system and why we are the only country that is. Because we let the stupid rule in order to beat some imagined enemy.
I worked for a computer store in the 90’s. The owner got the contract for all the PC’s in that part of the state in schools. One school was constantly calling about the mice not working. We would show up and start replacement them and those little assholes would be throwing the balls out of them across the room before we finished replacing them. We started using epoxy to seal them in. They would get gummed up bit it wasn’t our problem.
I didn’t impart the idea that it would change things. Just that for once those horrible people have felt the truth. The truth is that no one is safe even if someone isn’t out to get them. Now they are certain that someone is out to get them. It won’t make them better people. Pretty much the opposite.
Its all his counterparts at the other insurance scams that I’m laughing at. Suddenly they are considering their actions have consequences they can’t control with more lawyers.
I sensing a consensus from today’s CEO away.
Here is a tip. Most people would be more likely to call the cops on someone shoplifting food to feed their children.
Some live in Mississippi.
It was all lies. Still is.
For every accidental right he will get dozens of things wrong.
I wonder if it will make me laugh every time?
