this is why Dems can never be an effective opposition party to right wing extremism

The Alt Right Playbook: You Go High, We Go Low (InnuendoStudios, YouTube)

painfully relevant and insightful even 6 years later.

Dems are rule following conformists who would rather keep the wheels of governance spinning no matter what, because they incorrectly believe that the “democracy machine” can only ever produce “more and better democracy”.

from Merrick Garland being denied confirmation, to Al Green at the state of the union, Dems fundamentally don’t grasp when it’s necessary to break the rules to achieve goals

they don’t understand, The Rules Serve Us, We Do Not Serve Them (Parkrose Permaculture, YouTube)

Pro tip: you can remove the si=xxxxxxxxxxxx parameter from YouTube links. It’s some sort of tracking parameter. Also the ? is only needed to add parameters, so since the si parameter was the only one, it can be removed too.

It’s not MAGA. There isn’t some “extreme wing”. It’s the whole fucking Republican Party.

I’d be willing to bet Donald neither paid for, or kept, the Tesla fleet he wouldn’t know how to drive if he did.

I mean, I’m willing to defer if someone’s got something better.

no one seems to. In general, that is.

It’s super fun to blame the people who didn’t win despite fielding the only non-felon in the binary race.

I take it as more “the democrats are doing nothing AFTER losing the race except ask for more money to sit on their collective asses, resign ‘in protest’,” and ultimately not solve any problem week after week.

It’s less “both sides same” and more “COME ON GET UP AND DO SOMETHING BIG AND USE TACTICS THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED UNTHINKABLE 20 YEARS AGO BUT REPUBLICANS DO OPENLY BECAUSE NOBODY STOPS THEM!”

If it’s supposed to be “both sides same” then yeah, 100% “no it’s the children who are wrong”

not about who won the election (seriously we need to move on already). this is about overall strategies and tactics which limit the Dems ability to function as a collective opposition to the GOP.

even when Obama was president and had both houses, he couldn’t even fucking close Guantanamo or get a supreme court seat… and now it’s being converted into a concentration camp.

Neoliberals aren’t the opposition, they’re the good cop. They both work for the oligarchs. One with affirmation ribbons, one with scapegoats, both for murder and exploitation for profit.
