We really should ignore all the election politics and make this all about gun control. Paint Trump as a victim of the Second Amendment. Make it a whole sob story about how our democracy is under attack by guns.
Trump enacted some of the first gun control since the assault weapons ban. I’m pretty sure he said something like take their guns first then justify it latter during the summer of unrest.

Biden gets shot. Trump gets shot.
Future debate, Trump brags about how he got assassination attempts and Biden goes “No way Jose, I got assassination attempts too, bucko.”
