Use UBlock, sponsorblock, firefox, etc. Recently it broke again, some stupid permission to connect youtube to other google services pop-up is permablocking it and I can’t be bothered investigating.

Go to FreeTube cause why not. Works rather well for how it works. Especially for listening to albums it is fine, for video it’s often too slow.

They found a way to inject bullshit in there too, now? And basically everywhere.

Albums are sometimes uploaded as 1 long video. Those are fun. Often they’re uploaded as all songs seperately and then there’s a playlist which makes it ‘the album’. They used to be okay too.

Not anymore. People started injecting bullshit videos within the playlists. No, Andrew fucking Tates bullshit is not part of this album. Fuuuu. ANDREW I CAN’T STAY FUCKING MOTIVATED BECAUSE SOME ARSEHOLE INJECTED YOUR BULLSHIT VIDEO INTO THE MUSIC PLAYLIST I’LD LIKE TO LISTEN TO WITHOUT YOUR BULLSHIT INTERRUPTIONS!

I need to work on permanently replacing youtube. It no longer serves its purpose (for me of listening to albums) reliably.

I don’t understand. What google service permission?

And is youtube injecting andrew tate into playlists or is the owners of the playlists?

Google has to allow users to separate accounts on their services. It’s probably a popup that asks if you want to keep it all in one account or use a separate account for YouTube.

Yes, EU, they probably have to. Thing is i can’t see a thing on that pop-up, something somewhere is blocking it. Turned off ublock, still not showing, turned off i don’t care about cookies, still shows nothing. So it’s a white, empty pop-up on which i can’t click a thing and can’t get beyond it.

i think it’s whoever made the playlist i dunno. It’s mildly infuriating to me anyhow that someone would post a “full album …” and compose it with videos which all together do not form the album they claim it is in the title of the playlist.

Yeah but that’s not a youtube platform issue. Unless you mean to say they ought to block Andrew Tate content fully and anyone who tries to post it gets permabanned. Then yes, of course.

I honestly don’t care if it’s a user issue or a platform issue. It’s annoying af.

It’s not an issue though, from what you’re describing. People have control over their playlists. If that dude wanted to put that stupid video there, then that’s his prerogative. YouTube can’t “fix” that because a user doing whatever they want with their playlist is not an issue.

Yeah i used to do that. Then i got hooked by how easy it became to just stream all the time. Local made me feel like i got stuck on the same music after a while a bit too much, and getting new music required effort. I became lazy.

Yes Newpipe is also broken. It’s YouTube messing with their side of things. It started to glitch last week but ever since two days ago it stopped working entirely. Freetube still does the job if I really, really need to watch a video. But I guess I’ll wait for a patch and have a YT detox in the meantime.

I downloaded 27.1 some hours ago and most videos play now. But I still get a lot of crashes. The newpipe team is already on it though

Why don’t you just go directly to FaltyDL’s own channel directly if you want to listen to their music, instead of relying on some BS playlist unrelated to the artist? Music seems to be accessible there without Andrew Tate shit.

None of that has happened to youtube on my system and I watch daily. I use firefox with ublock and nothing else. Are you sure you don’t have some malware infection going on?

Is YouTube not slow for you on Firefox? Both my windows pc and Linux PC have super slow buffering on YouTube lately with Firefox. On mobile it’s fine, somehow. Nothing seems to help. And it’s not my Internet, everything else is normal speed except YouTube.

Edit: using User Agent Switcher and pretending to be Chrome worked immediately. This is definitely YouTube fucking with Firefox users again. They must be doing A/B/etc group testing which is why not every Firefox user is experiencing it, but many are if you go to the Firefox tech support threads.

I use a user agent switcher to tell youtube that my firefox is actually chrome. They did something some months ago for firefox clients.

Works fine with a user agent switcher though.

Oh that’s such an obvious idea, can’t believe I didn’t think to do that… Thanks, I’ll definitely give it a try!

you make me think i might, who knows. It looks and feels as a half-blocked element by something tho. The lay-over pop-up thing is getting thru, it’s content is not. Now I found out that I can “click” some of the whiteness (turns into a hand), but don’t know what I’ld be agreeing to.

First there’s this: which the only option is “review options”. There is no “close it for now” or whatever. It’s not a choice but a command.

Some Google services are not linked Choose whether to share your data across YouTube and other Google services

      Review choices

If clicking the review choices, I get a blank window with some “ghost elements” and when I inspect some of these it for example says “yes, link”. But I’ld rather not. Tried turning off all my extensions and refreshing but that still didn’t render it readable to me.

You can save a remote playlist as a local user playlist and remove the videos you don’t want.
