If it’s important, repeat it!
If it’s important, repeat it!
Evolution in practice!
It also is excellent at keeping out ants.
You rarely see ants in datacenters and its because of all the RAID.
RAID 0 is the best way to ensure data redundancy. It’s what we use at every Fortune500 company and there’s not an issue.
Hey, if I can’t be honest about my shitty memory and reading comprehension here where will I be!
That’s very fair - my brain is pretty responsive to alarms so I can use a timer to limit how long I’ll be submerged for. A trusted partner can also help.
I think I misread the previous reply - I assumed they were saying “Would that still hold if they were work related tasks?” Instead they may have meant “This is only true for work related tasks” - I agree with the later point.
When it comes to personal tasks though there’s no reason to not do everything you’re able when you’re able to do it.
My apologies for the confusion!
Still bad advice, imo. Unless you work at a great job you tend to accumulate responsibilities until you can’t handle another one.
Powering through tasks just raises the future expectations of management.
Training probably? It’s a shitty answer but it’s something that I’ve only gotten good at with time.
I try to keep distracting devices away during work hours and I’m not too hard on myself if I get briefly diverted - I’ll let myself indulge for about fifteen minutes before I try and clamp down and refocus. I do think there’s a danger in trying to be too strict with yourself because your brain will be shit if you try to maintain continuous focus but you also can’t continuously indulge wander brain (at least - not unless you’re rich).
I know it’s a meme but that’s terrible advice.
If you finish all the tasks most employers will just give you even more tasks for next week.
Assuming you’re somewhere without good social supports (aka America) you do need to do enough to support yourself - but you don’t need to be an overachiever. Letting your mind be off sometimes is healthy for you.
My partner gets the same appointment anxiety (any day we have an appointment she is nervous about doing anything before it). It’s a difficult thing to overcome but she’s had success with counseling and delegating more schedule management to me.
You don’t owe it to society to be productive. If you’re happier then you’ve made a positive change.
100%
So, I fixed it! I have a lot of privilege in being able to do this but my job can be done remotely. Right now I’m living in Spain and working in EST so my local working hours are 1500-2300 so I get to have the full morning to get my blood pumping and enjoy before heading to work.
Keep calm, the first time I doubled up I was so stressed about blood pressure that my freaking out spiked my blood pressure (I’m on methylphenidate, myself). Doubling prescriptions is never good but, aside EoL oncology meds, dosages are usually set to never be close to the range for immediate toxicity.
Your head might be funny feeling today but you can make it through.
The secret is to not have a filter. Like any filter at all.
… and in the time period we’re referencing when discussing angry villagers nearly everyone is a farmer and those who have other occupations still do some casual farming on the side.
This was me and my ADHD coworker… we never ate at noon - eventually (sometimes at like 430) one of us would turn to the other “You eat yet?” “Oh fuck, I forgot - let’s grab something”
