I imagine they rely on file extensions too much, and when they tested a file with an “empty” extension something great and terrible happened to make that rule instead of cleaning up the carnage.
Given the number of telescope and hyperzoom enthusiasts, I’m surprised we don’t have have some good pictures of these drones.
Good on them. Put those theories to the test! As long as they pay for it, I don’t care if it takes an orbital ride or a trip to find the great wall of ice. This is oddly truer science than one would expect.

If it were that, I would expect to see a lot of orange light spill on the ceiling, and a clear shadow of the pipe.
Those don’t look like PVC fittings, so I am guessing it is a metal pipe. The minimal loss of light at the overlapping sections and how it fades makes me think that it is truly incandescent.
