I think the rates of ethical people across the two are the same. Just have to relate the politicians to the same ranking as a CEO/board member.
Why aren’t we seeing this type of energy towards politicians? They’re the ones making the laws that companies exploit.
The millionaires/billionaires are just sharks in the ocean of capitalism and politicians nurture the conditions to make it possible for them to eat. Unfortunately, politicians feed off of the sharks in true capitalist fashion. Why are lawmakers allowed to trade stocks?
Politicians are the only ones that can really make change outside of driving sharks to extinction.
Fair. Essential items have gone up in price. There are other items that aren’t necessary that could be boycotted.
That’s ridiculous. Nothing on Amazon lasts very long these days, crazy to raise prices on low quality stuff. Good for you for finding an alternative. I always try to get the cheapest stuff. I need to be better about only getting what I need and not pulling the trigger whenever I think of something I need.
Haha sarcasm I presume. Boycotting certain restaurants or goods would be effective. I myself get take out more than I should or need to.
That’s the spirit! Isn’t that what we pay taxes for?
Unfortunately, that’s what it’s gonna take. I’m seeing it slightly in the automobile industry.
Haha I unfortunately count in the consumerist masses. Don’t use credit much anymore, but definitely addicted to Amazon Prime.
If people pay for the higher prices then it doesn’t matter. The general public would need to boycott or literally not be able to afford the prices of the good. Unfortunately, we all are very poorly disciplined in that regard, myself included.
You’re right. Most people will still vote for the primary candidates, but in an election like this past one where we could have had Harris and a white man on the Dem ticket, RCV could have swung the vote blue.
And no, alone it will not fix the problems, but it’s a key change. Yall have around 20% of offices held by third party or independent. US has none or close to none.
I’m sorry, what? Living in reality is happiness. Pretending the world is what it is not is depressing because one day you’ll have to come to terms with reality and it’ll shatter you.
Explain to me how your country has come into existence and remains peaceful (assuming it’s peaceful) without violence.
I’m not saying peace doesn’t exist, but it’s yin and yang. The world isn’t flowers and rainbows and cannot possibly be that as our species currently exists today. If you believe that, then you are living in a bubble and willfully ignorant of human nature when peace or survival is threatened. Everything is violent when it has to be.
You have the privilege of being peaceful because of the threat of violence. We’re still just animals when it really comes down to it.
Just think about what you said. How does that make any sense? The reason we exist is because our ancestors chose violence. Name any place in the world that didn’t have to protect themselves with violence.
The reason the recent generations in developed countries have been protected from violence is from past violence, the threat of future violence, and current proxy violence.
Violence is just a natural part of our world, even at the cellular level.
Guilty. Show me the almanac. I don’t trust nobody on the internet. Everybody speaks like they’re an expert.
You’re telling me to kill myself? And you’re getting upvotes? Lemmy has changed. Then again, Lemmy has always had a hard-on for politicians. Enjoy the circlejerk.
