“Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with major in Accounting, Finance or Economics”
“Prior audit or relevant accounting experience preferred, but not required.”

Strikes me as “This job can be done by anyone with a high school education that knows how to open Excel, change a cell value, and send an email. Other duties as assigned.”

  • While we’re on this tangent, I’ve always felt the need to point out the following.

Minimum Viable Product = Poorly planned, or not planned at all, crappy product that is created in haste by overworked, stressed out developers to make some middle manager in a suit and sneakers type feel like they’re doing something to please corporate, because they don’t have the guts or good sense to push back. This abomination is usually sold as “we’ll flesh it out in phase two.” Phase two never happens, because they’re off chasing whatever other shiny thing they think is important. Also, the last MVP that they farted out “didn’t gain traction.” /rant

Iaranis, I’m not speaking to you directly. Instead, I want to expand on your eloquent and pleasant message.

It amazes me how quickly some are willing to accept age related generalizations and reject generalizations based on other criteria like race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc. I’ve been around long enough to understand that all of it is a weird control mechanism. I’ve known people nearing the end of their days that spent a lifetime advocating for all the right things. That should be enough for folks to understand that we are all immature, flawed, and prone to bias; while capable of fostering positive change.

Don’t marginalize anyone, young or old because of their age. We all get the same short life to try to live to its fullest.

  • Sweet, thanks!

Yes, I seek out the most ethical option with whatever I consume. Being fair to people and kind to the environment should always come before convenience and profit. Especially for anything considered a luxury like coffee or chocolate. It would be nice if it was just on the shelf at the store since I’m already there, but it usually doesn’t work that way.
