W… What?
“Milhouse is not a meme” is a meme.
Maybe we can just do project sundial now and call it good (thanka Kurtzgesagt for letting us know it exists right before election day lmao)
I’m not christian and I assumed the experiment didn’t allow for evolution as it was not specified in its parameters. I assumed that the monkeys were a horrible (and very wrong) analogy for random number generators, were immortal, and had no time for making offspring as they were all trained and consumed with typewriting, or physically separated from one another.
The monkeys would produce wildly more limited results than a random number generator mind you, and they are essentially frozen in evolutionary time, so they are not going to be writing shakespear.
The problem here is the implied entropic outcomes of each system.
If the monkeys were replaced with true-random number generators, then you’d eventually get shakespear. But they aren’t RNG engines, and they aren’t quantumly random.
Instead, the monkeys have a large-ish but very finite number of logical branches that they can take in their decision-making processes, with slight variations within a fixed genetic scope. They will slam away at the typewriters in a very specific monkey kind of way.
At the end of the thought experiment, you will end up with an infinite amount of monkey-gibberish and a slightly smaller infinite amount of soiled or destroyed typewriters.
Auxio is excellent. Has the UI I’ve been looking for for ages, can shuffle by genre, great queue system, etc.
Only part i dont like is that it has an unskippable modal at startup where it scans your library instead of doing this as an invisible async step in the background and displaying what it has as it gets it.
“My name, is Inigo Montoya. You kill my father. Prepare to die.”
I think you are either too wealthy or too attached to city living to understand the point of these.
Tiny homes:
are affordable to anyone with almost any income, not just $80-100k+ a year incomes (which are practically mandatory now to buy a home in the current economy)
Can be set up literally anywhere that zoning allows for
A good choice for off-grid/prepper lifestyle
A good choice for solo living or for a couple to share with no kids
They would need to fix the SMS app first (lots and lots of bugs, not the least of which is that it likes to split MMS group chats up into separate 1 on 1 threads with every single participant as soon as you reply to the group)
You are clearly not the target audience then. There is a lot of extremely useful info in those model names.
Good, now they can shut it down!
Thats not necessarily dead, some FOSS projects move very slow as these are not the dev’s day job. And slow development doesnt equal non-functional. Especially for something as simple as an alarm clock.
It sounds like at least some of the features released in 4.0 were needed to make that work. Glide typing got disabled as a result of the new framework, so it’s definitely on its way (more now than before)
Did it get turned off? This is gonna be a major problem for me 😬
EDIT: It totally did. Looks like I’ll be on 3.1.6 for a while
It even has water markers for longer trails where youd be hiking for weeks or months at a time. Sometimes those spots are dry, but you can clearly see water channels in the ground where it would be flowing.
Pretty sure KDE’s Discover store hooks into Debian’s repos just fine too

Look into
libaxolotl
(AKA “OMEMO”), it is the same system Signal uses and is highly standardized.
