  • What’s the principle behind Russia being allowed to prevent Ukraine or another country from entering alliances? Why doesn’t this same principle apply to the Baltic states? And if Russia were to successfuly capture all of Ukraine, would it then have a right to demand similar neutrality from Moldova, Romania, and other states it would then borders? And does the same principle apply the other way - i.e. would it have been just for NATO to say Belarus can’t ally with Russia when Lukashenko took over and invaded them?

  • US and Ukraine puppet rulers 100% instigated the war, and are the one who want it to continue.

So you’re saying Russia doesn’t want the war to continue? So why are they fighting in Ukraine then? What are their actual goals and when will the invasion stop?

It is categorically false that Russia is interested in ruling all of Ukraine.

What evidence makes you so sure, and how do you explain the fact that Russia tried to invade Kyiv? Or do you disagree that Russia tried to invade Kyiv?

  • And the shoes (which are abnormally large) don’t look like any work boots I’ve ever seen, resembling trail running shoes but bigger. The laces seem to be oddly non-existent and instead the straps for lacing them appear to connect with each other.

AI can get reflections right, just when it doesn’t it can be very creepy.

  • Like many, he was a right-winger until he became the victim of the right wing. Suddenly he became the most extreme example of the “woke” activists he used to attack.

Your commitment to long-term civilizational success, Elon, is not universally shared

It’s not even the majority position

What you call the “woke mind virus” cares about one thing only: equality

The levelers want to destroy everything because in the rubble we will all be equal

  • Well that’s what I mean by

Violence solves things. But by the powerless? No…

The countries that violently shut down Hitler were anything but powerless. But they were far from the first to try violence, and those attempts became part of Nazi justifications for their own violence. The whole “Seizure of Control” section of this wikipedia article is pretty good reading on that, but I’ll quote specifically:

In his position of Reichstag president, Göring asked that decisive measures be taken by the government over the spate of murders of Nazi Party members. On 9 August, amendments were made to the Reichstrafgesetzbuch statute on “acts of political violence”, increasing the penalty to “lifetime imprisonment, 20 years hard labour[,] or death”. Special courts were announced to try such offences. When in power less than half a year later, Hitler would use this legislation against his opponents with devastating effect.

It’s also worth noting that the Nazi party anthem, “Horst Wessel Lied” praises a Nazi who was assassinated by Communists. And of course the Reichstag Fire became a key part of Hitler’s final seizure of power. Fascists are all about violence and using it to their political advantage, so if you’re gonna use violence against them, you’d better have all the advantages and a really good plan.

  • Don’t be sorry, be self-aware. You can look up my comment history, I don’t use this kind of language with everyone, but when in Trollistan, I speak troll.

As far as the Dr. Phil stuff, you’re describing a typical Lemmy user. Of course I’m male, only had about 98% odds with that one. Am I lonely? Occasionally, but less than most. Not that there’s anything wrong with being lonely, which is a very common emotion even among popular people. Subconscious feelings of inadequacy are references to psychoanalytic concepts that have long since been debunked. Dehumanizing? Quite the opposite. I’m trying to persuade the online masses to free themselves from the automated thought process of ideology.

  • If paying a CEO $200k more makes the charity $2 million more, it’s a no-brainer. Billionaires love to give to animal-related causes, so that’s easily plausible.

In reality of course, predicting the amounts of money a CEO will bring in is virtually impossible, so it becomes a nepo-baby-fest like everything else. People with rich connections are in high demand at pretty much every entity that has a need to raise money, so they cost a lot.

Then of course you have the problem that in the wider scope, this reality creates an arms-race between charities for fundraising potential that diverts from the causes themselves. The only real solution to that problem is to punish charities that pay their officers too much by not giving them money.

  • It’s kind of indirectly implied by what they say though. Think of the Elon Musk worship sphere, that basically argues if we just give him more money and vote for his politics, we’re gonna have self-driving cars and travel to Mars whenever we want. Oh, and by the way, buy this cryptocurrency (that he happens to own a lot of) if you wanna profit from it all too. This can also be extended to other tech bros like Peter Thiel and Marc Andreesen.
