Why do many when few

Yeah, my wife and I didn’t inherit any money or get any kind of gift for a down payment but we wouldn’t be homeowners unless our parents paid tens of thousands into each of our college educations.

I grew up forced to go to church and this is pretty literally a core point of the pastor’s sermon multiple times. He told a story about someone trapped on their roof during a hurricane and was offered rescue by three different means but refused each citing God. The story ended like the punchline here.

I don’t really have a point to this, but I wanted to share.
