If you think Christianity is unique in this regard look towards Buddhism, specifically the Vajrayana branches (often associated with Tibet) and you’ll see even more gruesome imagery than any Christian symbolism. Buddhas drinking blood out of the skulls of their enemies, stomping on corpses, and having sex all at the same time, and even more shocking things. These"fearsome" or “wrathful” manifestation of Buddhist deities that display raw power and the trappings of demons to destroy said demons are relatively common. Religion is weird and powerful symbolism is often shocking.

Yeah I legit think this is a bad thing. 4chan was bad for society but IMO it’s less so than mainstream social media. To get radicalized on 4chan you have to wade through some truly despicable shit right off the bat, where there is this friendly veneer on mainstream Internet that makes it seem safer and less horrifying even though the same underlying filth of human nature powers it all. If you encounter far right ideology on 4chan, it’s stripped of all of the edifices of respectability and it’s clear that what it is is raw unfiltered hatred. If you encounter it on Tik Tok it’s just another political viewpoint because they’re not allowed to show their true colors.

I suppose it depends on what you’re making but in my experience new plants are incredibly automated. Then again, I work in chemicals and not consumer goods, which probably has a bias towards automation

I feel like there are a lot of dimensions to this. I am a huge proponent of manufacturing, but yeah a lot of factory jobs suck. The problem is, they don’t have to. Modern factories are way better than old ones, and could be even better if we as a culture prioritized making jobs less soul crushing rather than access to cheap shit. I also feel like people who haven’t worked in manufacturing don’t really understand what it’s like in a modern facility. I think there’s this idea that it’s working at an assembly line or going out and turning a bunch of valves all the time but nowadays 99% of it is just sitting at a computer watching numbers. I wouldn’t want to be on the floor at my current job but I’ve worked other places where it seems a hell of a lot better than most other jobs available to non college grads.

Another issue is that modern manufacturing sites are super automated. Very few people actually work at them, at least the ones in America. You can have a plant that makes millions of pounds of plastic a year that employs 60-70 people, which is less than a typical Walmart.

I know I was just saying 3000 years and basically nobody alive today understands the language. Even people who devote their whole lives to the languages around at that time are basically just making informed guesses on pronunciation and would probably struggle considerably to understand an actual speaker.

A few things here-

1. The Talmud isn’t the same as Christian Scripture and this isn’t something all Jews will see and say “Yeah that’s what I believe and it’s super cool.”

During the time of Jesus, most non-Jews were polytheistic Pagans, and they didn’t really have a problem with other people practicing their religion. The issue the author takes with Jesus is precisely because he was a Jew and not a gentile.

Have you read the Bible? Half of the Old Testament is God getting mad at Israel and punishing them with wars and diseases. I haven’t done the math but more of God’s wrath in the Bible seems to be directed at Israel rather than her enemies.

3000 years is insanely long for language. Consider that the mother fucking alphabet was invented around 1000 BC*, and basically no languages that anyone still speaks existed in their modern forms. Homer hadn’t written the Illiad and the Odyssey yet, and the standard Greek that came to be defined by these works had also yet to develop. If you went back to 1000 BC you’d have no idea what was going on.

*Although previous alphabets existed, the Phoenician alphabet that became the basis for pretty much all modern writing systems in Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia was invented around 1100 BC

Jews don’t really hate anyone for not believing in their God. Unlike Christianity and Islam, Jews don’t believe that everyone has to follow their religion. They don’t really believe in Heaven and Hell, and they don’t proselytize to people who aren’t already Jews. Judaism is for the Jewish people and that’s it.
