Tbh, I don’t think I’ve ever seen hormone treated milk for sale in the US. They always say “not treated with rbst”, then have the disclaimer that rbst does not produce significantly different milk.
I just assumed the hormone treated cow milk was used for making industrial foods like cheezit cheese or something.
The term that people should look out for is “creamline” or “cream-top” milk. It’s whole milk that is unhomogenized. It basically separates in the bottle, so there’s a layer of cream floating on top of skim.
I couldn’t say for sure, but I’ve heard it’s better for making cheese/yogurt/etc.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy it just for drinking cause I don’t think it lasts as long.
CAD is a bit like programming, there’s a lot of ways to do any given task. That can make it tricky if you are doing some tutorials that use one workflow, and then start doing tutorials that use a different workflow.
If you want to learn it, do yourself a favor and take time to find a tutorial that goes from start to finish doing the type of project you want to do so you don’t get frustrated when you get midway through.
Like others said, if you are used to doing something in a different CAD software, you might find that the same workflow is clunky in FreeCAD, but if you start out with a workflow that works well in FreeCAD, you are fine.

Yeah, I’m not one to really keep up with what’s on the market, but I don’t think I’ve ever really seen many 3-4 bedroom apartments outside of college towns.
Lol, that’s exactly it. The pictures all look nice, until you actually live there and realize everything is crooked, built from paper, and held together with paint.
Some of the best neighborhoods I’ve seen/lived in in America have been neighborhoods that were built ~100 years ago when zoning didn’t really restrict things. You’d end up with mansions next to smaller homes next to duplexes and apartments. Some of the mansions end up divided into multi-unit housing. A person can be born in the neighborhood, and live their whole life there moving into different housing types as they need to. You can end up with greater social cohesion across age and socioeconomic ranges. If a kid from a working class family grows up in an apartment across the street from a wealthy kid, they will have more social mobility than of they were in segregated neighborhoods.
It sounds like most of your grievances are due to renting vs ownership. I’ve definitely had similar experiences, but most of things aren’t issues with decent duplex/townhouse/condos that you own.
The real problem is the huge corporations building apartment complexes with the cheapest materials and no thought of proper urban fabric while dressing them up like something off the magnolia network and renting them as “luxury apartments”. You end up paying top dollar for a shitty pile of monochromatic chipboard and petroleum distillates.

The whole concept of “manifolds” is basically that you can take something like a globe, and make atlases out of it. You could look at each map of your town and say that it’s wrong since it shouldn’t be flat. Maps are really useful, though, so why not use math on maps, even if they are “wrong”? Traveling 3 km east and 4 km north will put you 5 km from where you started, even if those aren’t straight lines in a 3d sense.
One way to think about a line being “straight” is if it never has a “turn”. If you are walking in a field, and you don’t ever turn, you’d say you walked in a straight line. A ship following this path would never turn, and if you traced it’s path on an atlas, you would be drawing a straight line on map after map.
The Shenandoah valley, which is bounded on the east by the blue ridge is not included. That’s several counties that you can see carved away between rockbridge County, VA, and Jefferson County, WV. The blue ridge continues further south from there, and a lot of it is left out on the map, too.
Some of that selection seems suspect to me. It’s weird to include central Mississippi, but exclude the blue ridge mountains. With government definitions like this comes money, so I bet there was a lot of politicking involved. That said, jd’s hometown is definitely not Appalachian, though I dont think he claims that. He claims (and this is my memory from reading the book when it first came out), that his family is Appalachian, so he claims heritage that way. Not to defend him, cause I think he’s a POS, but I think it is fair to claim he feels Appalachian.

Elbows have always been allowed on the table. The rule for fancy dining was that you couldn’t have elbows on the table during a course, i.e., when people are actively eating, but before/after, it’s fine. That’s a reasonable rule to be considerate of space.
Fold your clothes immediately after drying, while they are still warm. Also, dryers that can add steam really help if you’ve got a few things that need wrinkle removal. Also, handheld steamers are cheap.
Mostly, avoid needing to iron by avoiding wearing formal business attire.
I know this is a meme/satire, but it did make me think.
Windmills take energy from wind, which slows the wind down. Many crops can be damaged by high winds, so a windmill would theoretically reduce likelihood of this crop damage, but is it enough to be a measurable benefit to the crops, or is a windmill so tall compared to the crops that the benefit is lost in the noise?
They monetize your posts by serving ads next to them. If no one can see the content, it’s not monetized. The other thing is using them to train language models and such. That’s a little more abstract, and hard to account for.
Also, not sure if this is still a good way to do things, but there are tools to overwrite all your comments with useless text before deleting it. The thinking is that reddit and any third party websites aren’t going to bother storing multiple versions of a deleted comment.
The article isn’t clear enough about this. This pump is nowhere close to the fires, and the water coming out of the pump doesn’t get anywhere close to the fires, either.
The purpose of the pumps is to take water from rivers and send it to wealthy farmers. The farmers didn’t even need the water, anyway, this time of year.
