I don’t have kids, but when I was a kid I loved Spaghetti-Os and that candy that comes in a toothpaste tube but is literally just gelatinous sugar syrup. I probably would’ve loved the cybertruck too.

If the only exposure you got for the election that you paid attention to because it was “entertainment” was a “funny” Joe Rogan clip your buddy sent you of the Trump interview…
This right here is hitting on the real problem. People are fed bullshit from firehoses coming in all direction, so they feel like they are informed because of what they have passively taken in. It takes some real effort to step back and think “What if the things I’ve been hearing are not the full story?”, and even more effort to take the next step and actively seek out information that might challenge what you have already heard and internalized. We are ALL guilty of this to some degree.
But if you don’t have the capacity to be tuned in because fucking everything is designed to stress you out and extract what little money you have…
Precisely–it is 100% the point. If you are stressed out working 2 jobs and raising a kid, you are going to have a lot less energy to keep your bullshit detector running and the simple solutions to complex problems naturally sound more appealing.
You know, normally I just block trolls and idiots, but tagging them descriptively definitely sounds more interesting…
Honestly… except for the lack of unintelligible ads, you could have told me that was a screencap from an average news website and I would believe it.
Or just run both, period!
Plex is definitely more straightforward to maintain remote access to your content (including library sharing with friends & family). So it may be worth keeping up for that aspect alone, even if you end up liking Jellyfin better.
I actually prefer it the way it’s executed.
Maybe I’m thinking way too much about this, but each panel obviously takes some time amount of time to draw, and likewise each panel portrays some finite amount of time–not just an instant snapshot of the story. So as the dog is yelling at him, his drawing quality is degrading as he is working on the panel, leading to an inconsistent quality within the panel.
Better a damaged roof still attached to the house than a roof strewn a mile and a half downwind.
Nostalgia hit, right in the gut!
You may be right. I really hate that it’s so hard to tell sometimes.
I am genuinely interested in the line of logic that links “About to become leader of the free world” with "dated Montel Williams in 2001’.
American here. I’m choosing to believe that this is just a normal, everyday amount of poop-related slang for the UK, and that you’re not playing it up for comedic effect.
The names of the “similar” rides… LOL
-Extruder
-Vaporizer
-Rusty Splash
-Driller
-Cracking Unit
-Oil Slip
-The Fractionator
Is this literally a petrochemical plant themed water park?
Check the bottom of the bollard, it looks visible damaged where it meets the ground, like it had bent backwards towards the camera.
I think the OP is right. It wouldn’t need elasticity; it got bent down just far enough for the back end of the car to ride up on it, then when they pulled forward it dragged the bollard upright, at which point it punched through the floor.
My guess is the metal had begun to rust where it meets the ground, and then some freeze thaw cycles crumbled the concrete, leaving it weak right where it meets the ground.
I personally underestimated the support Harris would get. I remember lots of progressives being unhappy with her back in 2020, due to her background as a prosecutor.
Between that and the obvious reasons Republicans would go after her, I figured it would be an uphill battle.
Very happy to have been wrong!
I get Robin Wright vibes. Maybe they were going for the subliminal House of Cards reference?
Yep, I was wearing that clown makeup too. Dems have not impressed me much lately with being able to deliver a coherent and effective message, so I was fully prepared for a shitshow of disarray if/when Biden dropped out.
It was very surprising to me how effectively they were able to leave Trump stumbling just as he seemed to be on the upswing. The utter lack of disorder around it almost feels like Biden was planning to drop out of the race all along, just waiting for the right moment… but that’s probably giving him too much credit.
It’s definitely not not the goth mommy we’ve been after.
ETA: This is example 24,873 of Republicans’ imaginary scare tactic actually seeming pretty damn cool if it were real.
They exist only so you stay on Google’s page and don’t follow a link to another site.
That may be true, but I’d say in the neighborhood of 1/3 - 1/2 of my searches are answered by auto-compiled info cards or similar artifacts.
Just by way of example, my wife and I were casually researching cars lately, and one of the criteria is “does the damn thing fit in our garage??” Typing “Mazda CX-9 length” and having that specific info presented immediately is immensely preferable to clicking into edmonds.com and scrolling through an entire table of specifications.
I love bed.
Men only want one thing…
and it’s dangerous as fuck.
