I don’t find very much interesting about this conversation anymore. If it can even be called that. American politics is like scripted television drama. It’s quite fitting. Except it’s so predictable. It’s the same script on loop.

I saved so much money due to csg threads.
How do you know it will? Stagnation is a thing in the US stock market as much as ‘line go up’ is a thing.
If anything millennials have had it better than anyone else. If your brain hasn’t hemorrhaged from reading that sentence then consider that what you are saying is only being said because millennials have seen the one of most incredible bull runs ever.
If you’re 35 years old that means you started your big boy career job about 15 years ago. In other words your investment portfolio if you were one of the individuals smart enough to begin diligently investing from the start. Look at the SP500 15 years ago. It was the bottom of the recession. The SP500 has gone in a straight line up from about 700 to 6000. So only a modest what like 800% gain. Of course it’s easy to say ‘cheap stock’ every time a big drop happens.
Now look at the 15 year period after the Dotcom bust. Now try the 1970s through the better part of the 1980s. Long periods of stagnation. Sideways moving stock market.
People need to be ready to stomach effectively zero gains until age 50 as much as you can tell them the SP500 could hit 12000 in the same period. There’s no guarantees unless your frame of reference is only the past 15 years. Then of course it is easy to say line always go up.
Infinite scroll is suited for current events putting negative pressures against content creation. Content creation became an economy. Commoditization of content sucked the life out of it all.
Those who take issue with loss of profits without ads must take it up with big tech. They’ve have literal trillions of dollars from dominating the ad industry. They have your money. Nobody else.
They have old/orphaned dependencies on their machine. It’s hanging on a by thread. They have no idea the packages have disappeared years ago. The house of cards is a bit flip away from collapsing.
The chronically online incels look for things to mass report. It’s part of their ongoing campaign to shove the Overton Window far right.
Reddits content moderation are cubicle farm employees that barely look at content; nevermind actual context or intent. They’re clearing tickets to make quota. Right wingers exploit this to control discourse.
You can try doing it yourself. Look for frivolous things to report as offensive. You can get quite a bit of things removed.
I’m posting this from Mars colony. Amazing isn’t it.
It’s not that arbitrary. Gen-X are the first generation of boomer children. Millennials are the second generation of boomer children who grew up with the internet. These are real events.
People find it easy to fit boomers into a tidy box. Ask the boomers born on the cusp of boomer and gen-x. It’s arbitrary bullshit too. It’s not like baby boomers all came from the boomer factory and then one day they decided, ‘that’s it the boomer factory’s closed’.
The gift code means a subscriber is sharing access to the content.
Though I don’t doubt the sites use this as a double purpose for tracking.
Americans are going to take this as a statement that Canada themselves are paying the tariffs.
I wasn’t making a political statement about Flatpaks.
Anyone with half a brain could tell you plain cameras is a non-starter. This is nearly a Juicero level blunder. Tesla is not a serious car company nor tech company. If markets were rational it would have been the end for Tesla.
I downloaded the tor browser binary which runs standalone. Why does it need to be a flatpak?
Sundar PIchai was front and center at the inauguration. Right next to Musk himself.
Where did this come from? Is this a precursor to pushing some blockchain shit or something?
Dear
Penthouse Forumreddit, I’m a 20 year-old college student and I never thought I’d be writing to thePenthouse Forumreddit, but…
It’s the lowest common denominator of smut entertainment. The tech companies have managed to veil it all in prestige. It should be called gossip media or something.
Instead people think there’s some kind of real human connection. Some kind of deep discussions happening.
One of the biggest lies of my life is hearing, “never again”. It’s happening again and nobody is stopping it. Everyone is asleep at the wheel.
Well bluetooth doesn’t carry enough bitrate to accomplish this. Besides. Apple won’t and doesn’t need to because their AAC encoder is superior. There is no other bluetooth codec that comes even close. Every codec that claims to be the best one yet is more marketing than anything.
Vendors reframed the narrative for SBC to be dog shit so they can push their own as cutting edge new tech. In reality SBC isn’t that bad. The vendor codecs aren’t that good. And Apple has some kind of secret sauce in their AAC encoder that results in really good quality reproduction of audio.
As far as I’ve seen most of the gimmicky codecs are spins of existing old technology. AAC itself is old too but at least one vendor Apple has focused on making their implementation good. We don’t need another standard+1. We just need a common standard done well. If only Apple would open theirs.
This is the inevitable result of infinite growth. You aren’t getting a home in world class locations without being at the very top yourself. Sure other people lucked into the right place and the right time. Go buy lottery tickets. Or set down in location that is more affordable. With any luck you’ll be a multimillionaire when you’re elderly too. And the kids of the year 2060 will hate you for the dastardly plot you schemed up with your friends to ruin everything.
We’re all part of the rat race that is fucking us over. Nobody wants to flinch. So we continue to eat each other alive.
