  • I kind of agree, but it needs to be a serious party that proves itself. I wont vote for some joke party that only runs in presidental elections. They need to put in the work and run (and win) in smaller more local elections before i would consider giving my vote.

Ideally, this party would fill in the gap the republicans left behind after dying.

For the foreseeable future though, i dont have a choice other than to vote dem

  • Its ok its not an attack; you’re good!

The reason i say that is because we are the ones that pull the trigger. The choice was shit or disaster, and disaster got chosen. For all the faults of Kamala, there are innocent people who have been deported who would still be here; federal workers who would still have jobs; palestinians who would have their home at least recognized. Its a place of privilege to be able to choose disaster when the effects of that choice are the burden of others.

I voted for Kamala not because she is progressive; I did it because I am progressive. Sometimes that means doing something you dont like to save someone else who is counting on it.

  • Ultimately yes, its the fault of the voters (and non voters) who let their emotions cloud their judgement. Thats true whether you like it or not. Especially if Gaza was your main issue; if you saw both candidates and thought Trump was better for the situation, you need to seriously look inward and consider your reasoning abilities.

That being said, the opposition party does not get off the hook so easily here. The fact that Trump could win despite everything he said is a total and utter failure. Their strategy is bad, and they refuse to acknoledge it because to do so means that they need to upend their internal heirarchy. They have buried their heads in the sand when it comes to accepting the playing field of politics right now, and quite frankly as a party they look incredibly weak.

In other words, to not acknoledge that the election was theirs to lose is also denying reality

  • I get the message here for sure, but imo tickets (while important) take a back seat to a rich commit history. Ifbthe commit messages and history are high quality enough, one can tell whats up with the code sinply by looking at the log.

Tickets on the otherhand are in a secondary system. Of course, they can bind the work of multiple projects together. But honestly, has anyone ever been able to just reach the ticket history and know everything about a project without asking someone?

  • Ya know, I think a lot of people miss the point on this. There are some real biggots that hate trans and yadda yadda, but the majority of joe everyman voter is really saying “im struggling to pay my bills and all you care about is peoples genders, and people who arent even american”. Is it true? No. But politics for most people is about feeling and emotion. There is no logic talk that will change that. You have to meet simple people at their level; you cant force them to reach your level and understand all the nuance. They are not capable.

Its imperitive that the left stop falling back on this rhetoric, over the economic issues that the majority of voters care about. And dont say “well this policy and that policy and…” They dont understand any of that. They need to hear that they come first.
