The word is coup. An unelected centa-billionare is re-shaping the federal government to suit his whims. No amount of Executive Orders actually allow this. The Supreme Court has been clear that the only means we have to stop this is impeachment which no one sees as a option because the Republican Party has been captured by the same special interests that led to this.

This is exactly it, open source is not just the availability of the machine instructions, it’s also the ability to recreate the machine instructions. Anything less is incomplete.

It strikes me as a variation on the “free as in beer versus free as in speech” line that gets thrown around a lot. These weights allow you to use the model for free and you are free to modify the existing weights but being unable to re-create the original means it falls short of being truly open source. It is free as in beer, but that’s it.

It doesn’t stop with the shitty people. It escalates, it kills innocents. Advocating for killing shitty people is advocating for a justice system where anyone can pass a death sentence on anyone else.

You want less shitty people making unethical decisions that fuck over other people? Than get better fucking people in government. Government is the best tool we have to prevent shitty people making unethical decisions that fuck over lots of people. It’s not ideal but it’s a hell of a lot better than getting gunned down because someone disagrees with you.
