Go for it. I’m not sure which forum it belongs in.

They know exactly what they’re doing. Their editors have decided that American democracy is a “partisan issue” and have decided to cover it as such, meaning they won’t “take sides” over it.
That’s why NASA invented Tang.
Every single consecrated Catholic altar contains a relic of a saint. Usually they’re pretty small, maybe a piece of a fingerbone or something. You’re right that a good one like this would bring in lots of pilgrims (tourist dollars,) but it’s a tradition that way predates capitalism.
I’m not in the business of defending the Catholic Church or capitalism, just wanted to clarify.
Just use your hand. If the beer is in a bottle, leave it so the neck is sticking out of the ice water and spin it that way (this also works very well for wine.) If it’s a can, stick it in vertically, and spin it for 30 seconds at a time or whatever you can stand.
Even if you aren’t constantly spinning it, it will still get cold much faster than any other method. I’ve worked in bars and restaurants for 15 years, and this is my go to, in case of emergency method for chilling beverages.
Duh. Everybody knows the only thing that works is Velostat. You cannot use any other material.
She sucked ol Ronny stupid.
The social media algorithms were definitely much different in 2014. They tended to promote links to outside articles and trending topics, even if those links were to BuzzFeed listicles. In 2015/16 they had all changed to trying to keep people engaged on the original site, so they started pushing rage bait that would get people arguing in the comments.
In 2014, everybody was talking about what color that dress was. In 2015, Breitbart was like the number 3 most popular shared “news” site on Facebook.
He asked that the state GOP revoke their endorsement of him. That’s something.
His previous comments imply some internalized homophobia, but this recent line of rhetoric from the Colorado GOP is obviously eliminationist, and he seems to have realized it. Maybe it leads to him more closely examining his previous attitudes, maybe it doesn’t.
I’m not saying he’s like, a good dude. Just worth noting that he found a line he wouldn’t cross.
You should just read what the Republicans will do if Trump is reelected.
They’ve published their plans, and I want exactly zero of any of the “policy” they plan on implementing.
I’m the flip side, Go back and watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Once you’re done cringing at the racism, think about the fact that Harrison Ford went on an intense weightlifting program for that movie, and was considered the most shredded leading man in Hollywood at the time. Actors using steroids has become so common that it has also skewed our perception of a normal fit guy’s body.
Tell them you were deathly sick.
“Yeah I had skin cancer. Nothing major but I had to take it easy and after beating it we all went on vacation to celebrate”
It may depend on where you live, but it may be illegal for an employer to ask about anything medical in an interview. I have a two plus year gap and if I get asked about it, I just say, “illness.” They can’t ask any follow up questions.
I have occasionally expounded on it, saying, “I’m fully recovered now.” Just to reassure them that I don’t expect to miss work due to illness in the future.
Well, yeah, I would agree with that. The author also does a good job of pointing out how that’s bullshit, and gives several examples of ways that the Times is covering the candidates differently, demonstrating their hypocrisy. (They’ve been laundering right wing ideas into mainstream public consciousness for decades now, anyway.)
It is still shocking to see the editor just come out and say, in plain English, that the very concept of democracy is a partisan issue, and that they refuse to weigh in on it.
