We all have a choice. To stand, not kneel. To oppose, not obey. To live, not just exist

I am not here to convince anyone, just sharing my opinion and reading other’s opinion.
There will be dragging, there will be kicking and there will be screaming but there won’t be a better, more just world tomorrow following Marxism, and certainly the people dragged, kicked and screaming won’t see that future.
What? God gave humans free will. God didn’t made slavery, didn’t made money, or democracy, didn’t made wars. Basically He created the world as it was during paradise and the rest is our creation.
Although I would argue Angels are like slaves but that’s not exactly the point of this and at least one rebelled so I don’t know to what point they are or were slaves.
The OT is in the Christian Bible because they can’t ignore it, and shouldn’t ignore it. But that doesn’t mean following.
An eye for an eye is incompatible with turning the other cheek.
Slavery is entirely a human creation, neither the Bible nor the Torah tells believers to enslave other people but what is says, all from the OT to the NT, is “give to Caesar what’s his and give to God what’s His”, I know it sucks but it’s not that different from Stoic teachings, that’s why Catholics (and other Christians) belief that suffering makes them closer to God.
Edit.
There is a huge debate in Christendom about the meaning of “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Some believe the OT rules stand, some believe that they don’t. Catholics are taught the OT like kids learn history in school.
Honestly from Nazism back in the 30’s and 40’s to today technocracy, I can see the similarities. Add some modern China.
I agree with the point that land is owned by the one strong enough to enforce ownership.
I also think you agree with my point that we don’t own our land, or even our houses, the State owns it and we rent it from them.
It’s just a bit of nitpicking in the naming because I prefer calling things what they are not otherwise they end up losing meaning.
You are right until the whole thing is settled it can go either way, it can even go back to “democracy” (two party system isn’t really very democratic)
Well isn’t that pretty much what my local government did?
Considering it’s history. It was Monarch land, then took by dictator, then took by Republic, then took by dictator, then back to Monarchy for a short period during democratic transitioning. Well technically they didn’t even buy it they just took it.
While the people living here, which with me it’s 3 generations of my family but another three before that of another family (the ones who built it), had to paid for it the whole time.
At least the duchess land was really cheap, like 1 testimonial cent even in recent times.
If that sounds fair to you, then okay, nothing different from Absolute Monarchies time except the Monarchs.
This isn’t exactly fascism, this is the first technocracy in the works. Every kind of dictatorship follows the same steps but the end results is different, in this case would end with corporations controlling power, in others was a single dictator, an unitary party, a monarch, and religious leaders.
If you pay property taxes then the property isn’t yours.
In my town, the land belongs to the local government.
Their job is literally to get elected…
Many things contributed to the downfall of internet.
Corporations: not much to say about it. All they want is more users and all they want is more money.
Ads: because everyone wants money. I am making a tutorial? I want people watching it to give me money. I am making a website? Money. I have free time I can watch some ads to earn money! Then corporations go in the middle: That guy is making tutorial I can put ads in it, give him a small fee and the rest for me!
Centralization: as you said, instead of millions of forums people just go to reddit.
Privacy: People not only don’t care about it, they are willingly giving it away for free, and the big corporations profit.
The selfhosting movement is the light in the tunnel, but it’s really dangerous out there and good actions can bring bad people and they can absolutely ruin your setup.
A single death is a tragedy; A million deaths is a statistic.
Luigi killed a dad, husband, ceo, etc, etc etc.
Brian just inflated some numbers…
I hate how the world works.
If it bleeds we can kill it.
Unless… no no it can’t be.
Unless…
Yeah, smartphones don’t teach kids file structure at all.
I miss the old internet
I agree, but in my experience there aren’t screens everywhere (NAIA for example) and having the app is a plus, besides, flight gates can change at any time and having the app allows you to check that on the move.
As I said, not defending putting ads but with the apps is not that big of an issue.
Back in the day we did that because it too long to boot so we never shut it down.
20 years later we have servers at home that we never shut down.
