BUT no one has had sex with them! No one else has made such guarantees with the wings previously on offer.

None of these people are alive anymore. We owe nothing to anyone that we don’t already owe everyone.
There are as many houses as people want but not all the the quality or location they want. Manufactured homes can be dropped on lots for a fraction of the price. People live in the central valley and commute so they can have a home for much less. The world will never have everything everyone wants the way they want it. Thats not this world.
If them buying it denied other legitimate buyers with the same purchasing power from doing so, then yes. A home is too unique a purchase to be scalped though. It’s like art in that the house is the only 1 one available exactly like it. The same exact house built on a corner or further in on the block have different values.
2 pairs of the exact same sneaker treated the same from the same production run are practically identical. Market manipulation through scalping is the only method to raise it’s price at the time of market sale.
Tickets have a limited duration they hold ANY value so their prices can be manipulated through scalping too.
Houses just shouldn’t be in the same conversation.
A home is 1 form of shelter. The luxury form. Much in the way a Ferrari is a form of transport vs a bike. The meme doesn’t show shelter in the context of a basic right. It’s showing a luxury good among other luxury goods.
What the hell does that have to do with luxury goods? The house is the only thing you Might not consider a luxury good because you need housing but, owning your own property and not sharing walls with a neighbor is in fact, a luxury.
LOL! Almost that exact phrase is what I use whenever my wife asks me why I’m peeing outside in my backyard instead of just going inside to the bathroom.
My exact thought. I could get up on the balls of my feet, but my ass is falling down those stairs, for sure, on the way down.
There’s this strange conservative delusion the gun control means no guns. Not allowing fully automatic weapons of war in the hands of citizens is reasonable. Not just letting any random person with a history of violence is reasonable gun control. Making sellers go through the effort to enforce the rules in place instead of subverting it for a sale or their personal beliefs is reasonable.
I’m pretty liberal and I think you should have a right to have a handgun and rifle if you are a competent adult, with the same regulations we use regarding cars. Personally, it’s probably wise for women and lgbtq+ to open carry in morr conservative areas for a while.
I think we also assume most Mexicans care about the wall when that isn’t a factor for the vast majority. Most come and get their court dates and are capable of passing the boarder legally.
I mean… it’s hard to interpret “the problem is her messaging is she didnt come across as a white man with grievances…” as anything but claiming sexism and racism. There’s hyperbole there, but blaming the loss on those factors assumes that people couldn’t have possibly abstained from voting, or voted against her without those factors. I don’t believe that’s the case.
Too frequently we call people these things and basically lock them out of discussion. For example, if you called me a racist, I’d no longer trust anything else you said to me because I know myself and clearly you like telling people things you know nothing about. I think that exchange happened with a bunch of people, which is why there were so many people who just assumed many of the things said about Trump were just political lies made to discredit him. After they experienced the same hyperbole themselves.
That said… theres alot of bigots out there too.
No shortage of documentaries or reality TV. We live in a land of plenty. What you watch is up to you though. They even remade cosmos in 2014, so there’s interest there.
I think you are probably right but I always imagine it like wind in a sail. It’s strong enough to push a ship but not rip the sail due to surface area. I can at least pretend that’s the case. 😆
Yeah I just don’t like the feel of dirt grit and bugs in my teeth.
If your guy feels like showing up to those meetings they are an extremely rare exception. There is no rule that they be present, they just must feel like voicing their opinion.
Ewww I would never want fire chiefs elected. Also you’re just wrong in basically every assumption you make about how decisions get made.
Pathetic. You can’t even see that’s exactly what you’re doing even after so many examples. We’ve seen this play out before.
You don’t exist in a country with a voting system where abstaining from participating in the 2 party system makes you not culpable for the outcome when 1 party has vocalized their intent for violence.
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
I disagree with several premises. I wouldn’t want my children’s shows to shoehorn in messages. If it makes sense in the plot for the characters to have and voice an opinion, or if it’s a cleverly written allegory, then that’s great. If they are just creating a character for the exclusive purpose of pushing an agenda (even one I agree with) it’s annoying.
Whenever someone says “people doing X, are the same people doing Y.” You’re witnessing some broad sweeping generalizations that are usually just the writers opinions. You can just remove the X statement.
I don’t like when protesters block my road on the way to work, or shove pictures of dead children in people’s faces, but I still can agree with protests against wars etc. Not liking the mode of messaging doesn’t equate to disallowing the massage and that’s fair. Personally, I encourage people to disrupt the actual power structure in place instead of the general population, but that’s just me.
