Yeah fuck this guys (OP, not the person I’m replying under) take. Hobbies need less gatekeepers and if I want to do research about gear, make nice purchases as a way to deepen my investment into the hobby so be it.
Example: I just got into fitness. I have almost no need for some of the products ive been buying, however through the research ive stumbled across some excellent articles and a few YouTube channels that inspire me. Even if the gear / gadgets do nothing more than inspire you to show up and try them out, its worked.
This is the way, van even organize into categories. I’ve never understood the appeal of having 400+ tabs open in a browser all the time.
???
No shade at peeing sitting down or the shower, but the sink!
Dont understand why people dont just become stall enjoyers. Hot take: urinals suck.
That wasn’t the joke. There is no way OP meant it literally.
Oh yeah sorry, was not trying to present the process as positive…blood should not be circumventing the liver.
Yes medications have potential side effects, but HBP meds have been around for decades, are well studied and shown to be preferable versus the known outcomes of untreated hypertension.
Hypertension will fuck you up way more than taking an additional medication will. On the topic od the liver, It actually causes new blood vessels to be made to circumvent the liver which leads to more waste in bloodstream not being filtered out.
I mean, can’t you just take HBP meds?
Yeah sure, medication can help!
I have found that if the meeting is actually quick (sub 20 minutes) rebounding is not as difficult. When the “quick meeting” turns into a check in + “do we have time to talk about…” + any other number of meandering paths a meeting can travel down, I’ll have a hard time getting back into task mode.
Something that helps me is to take a walk right after those meetings. Helps me reset when I get back to my desk.
Not wasting energy explaining this to you. You’re clearly incapable of engaging with a disagreement which has lead you to double down and move a few goalposts around.
All criticism of your original point was done respectfully, its really not my problem if you can’t just acknowledge you misspoke in the first post… Its downvoted like 20+ times man. What other evidence do you need that maybe you didn’t communicate your thoughts clearly.
Hey man don’t take it personal that we disagree with your original point…if you meant to say something else, fair enough, but we all posting / responding to the OP which was more broad than what you are saying now.
Additionally, my response was more about quality of materials which may incrue extra costs and had nothing to do with buying over priced designer stuff. I agree with your new point, but thats not what you said initially.
Yeah that’s a great way to get a quality pair of shoes! I’ve done similar… Or check out the lightly used rack at REI or something.
Agreed on point about special purpose footwear. However disagree with both you and OPs point about not investing in footwear and seemingly choosing options based at least mostly on cost.
Cheap footwear leads to a variety of other health / joint / posture issues that cost far more in the long run.
All new shoes are going to feel okay when you first get them. Something people forget is how a cheap shoe will degrade over time. Common example is soles wearing down unevenly because say the insole or outsole is made out of something cheap. Now you need to walk on a slightly uneven footing for months till you buy a new pair, thus furthering the damage created by ever other cheap pair of shoes you’ve bought over the years.
Shoes, tires, matress; dont skimp.
Sharing culture is one of the most beautiful things humanity has to offer each other.
