Well, yeah, kind of… I used to think that way but, after a series of unexpected events, I changed my thinking. Slightly. But, again, yeah; I do understand that ultimately most decisions are “political”… one way or another, as you rightly say.

If we rule out: psychopathy, spurned lover’s tryst (I’m not sure that 3 word phrase works in English), revenge, personal hatred etc then, yes, ultimately it would be a political (in the broadest sense of the term) act. You’re correct.

Also, I’m glad to meet someone who realises that politics stretches so much deeper into every single facet of life, for so much of the world’s population, in so many ways. It goes far far deeper than simply being what rosette you wear, or what box you tick, once every 4/5 years on polling day.

Whether we agree, or not, on our personal politics I’m encouraged that we agree (mostly) on what is political.

Sentences to never take out of context and all that… I’m gonna do a little research now as I’ve seen one or two brown (?) squirrels which I always assumed were red/grey cross breeds. I take no pleasure in killing animals but it has to be done… (to anybody who might disagree with that last bit - sadly it’s a fact. It’s not an opinion. It’s seems that everything in the US is political… even when it isn’t anywhere else. In a perverse way I’d be “happy” if it was a grinder hook-up settling a score. But, yeah, when you put profits before people… bullets are cheaper than court cases.

Do you have more than one type of squirrel? In the UK you can bag as many invasive greys as you want (.22, twelve foot pounds of air - lol) but don’t ever hit a native red. The greys brought a virus (?) that has decimated our native reds.

TLDR: squirrel racism is promoted in the UK.

Edit: 12 ft/lbs is the legal limit for air rifles (easy to buy and operate) but it’s not unheard of for people to - illegally - up that. The only thing worse than missing vermin is injuring vermin.

I see you’re coming around to our way of thinking… would really be surprised if someone had gone in on a hit using a single rack hand gun as was mentioned earlier. Wrong tool for the job, I reckon. It’s super hard to extrapolate too much info from the video but, yeah, sub sonic and silencer is the combo that can create this result. Yeah, single action is also a possibility but I was just following on from the previous suppressor / silencer comments and trying to add to that. Sub-sonic and silencer ( for a USian private citizen) is such a unique (and illegal?) combination that I’d be reasonably surprised if that was the case - but it is possible. That’s all I wanted to point out.

He may have been firing sub-sonic rounds in conjunction with the silencer/suppressor. Purely anecdotally but I’ve heard that that combination “can” lead to jams and the need for manual reracking.

I’ve worked with a couple of New Yorkers and this particular area is usually (unauthorised) gun free. A shooting in Brixton is less of a story than a shooting in Westminster. That’s the best comparison I can think of. Manhattan versus the Bronx is probably similar. Also the gun has a silencer/suppresor on it. Above the sound of the city, your vehicle and the radio it would be possible to miss.
