Not a single self-hosted read-it later use single file in their backend. I wonder why… single file works flawlessly on every site !
The only one that works similarly is linking.

I do agree :) Just think about those wonderful NIST curves specially crafted to snoop on all communication. If this doesn’t makes you extremist and “paranoid” then nothing does…
And in france it was many times in the news about a group of friends who were arrested for using Signal. […]
I never heard of such a story. Do you have any reputable source to backup your claims?
I just read “open source alternative/hamachi” and I’m already hooked ! Brings back good old memories how I used to play splinter cell coop over Hamachi.
Thanks for sharing, will give it a try someday after I finished other projects in my homelab
I post someone’s comment on a controversial topic about google and GOS. I saved it because that’s exactly how I feel.
Step 1 of installing GrapheneOS for de-googling your life: Buy a Google Pixel phone
Look - I know, I know. I get it. Google allows you to unlock the bootloader while maintaining the phone’s unique and excellent hardware security features. The argument makes sense. It is compelling. Other manufacturers do not give you this freedom. I am not arguing about that. I have a Pixel phone running GrapheneOS myself.
However… It is just so very obviously ironic that one needs to trust Google’s hardware and purchase a Google product to de-google their life through GrapheneOS. I think that it is a perfectly valid position for someone to raise their eyebrows, laugh, and remain skeptical of the concept either because they do not want to support Google at all, or because they simply will not trust Google’s hardware.
The reason why I think that this is “controversial” is because I have seen multiple instances of someone pointing out the irony, followed by someone getting defensive about it and making use of the technical security arguments in an attempt to patch up the irony.
Yeah… And probably all big players have somehow backdoored their phone :/.
Thank you ! 😄
Thanks :) ! Could you tell me what use case/purpose such function can have from a dev perspective?
Looks cool :)
typing tests
How can I say… My Android keyboard is probably lacking the proper dictionary and is probably less reactive than the native app installed by default. Not sure this test can be accurately (even professionally) tested on any device :/.
Even a typing test on a keyboard is odd. My grandma surely gonna fail this test and not because she’s old, but because she doesn’t know where the different keys/letters are placed on the keyboard.
Or am I missing something here?
I’m aware but why would anyone use the bleached flour? I mean are they marketed as bleached flour or are they just named white flour ?
Shouldn’t be it the other way arround? The unbleached flour is the actual normal flour and the bleached flour should be called “bleached flour” to make people aware of the treatment? Kinda wild…
But I digress, your cake still looks yummi and I still want to eat some ! 🥹
Looks tasty yummi!!
200g unbleached flour
Wait… What?
Oh yeah so not bragging arround and/or exposing a public jellyfin/ember/plex instance?
That was an interesting read and saddening at the same time. I feel so sorry for the poor guy and all other email selfhoster.
Kind of curious here and sorry for my lack of understanding in IP stack, but isn’t IPv6 going to somehow mitigate that issue?
Isn’t there any other protocol that actually would circumvent that censorship? Like something like I2P? Or is it impossible to forward that kind of traffic over to it?
The internet is already a cesspool of censorship for “security” reason and it’s getting worse over time. Do you have any clue where or how we can join a community/group that somehow fights back those kind of unfair and monopoly behavior of big tech companies ?
Thank you !
They mostly don’t give a fuck about what you download. Just don’t share the stuff forward.
That’s a no go in the P2P community. Leeching is bad for the whole network and for everyone else. Especially on public torrents.
If you’re running an Android phone, there’s RethinkDNS which can block every requests except those explicitly allowed by yourself on the DNS level and firewall your traffic based on your rules.
It’s very customizable but It’s not that easy to get it right. You can even hook up your own wireguard tunnel and add block lists similar to uBlock.
If you want to dig deeper into the DNS blocking you can have a look at PCAPdroid which allows you to peek into wich app does what on the DNS level. While it works without rooting your phone, if you want to use it in combination with your VPN, you need root access.
Hahaha… What a stupid take. Yeah scientific research isn’t biased and hasn’t been poisoned by conflict of interest… never has been and never will I guess? Scientific research is the ultimate truth of wisdom and you don’t need your own critical thinking anymore 😮💨 (Yeah the tobacco industry was right, smoking is healthy !)
when the researchers themselves are saying the work isn’t over. why are all the super geniuses in this thread so smugly announcing this topic is wrapped up?
It’s better to be safe than sorry
Edit:
Therefore, the fact that no evidence for large-scale mobile eavesdropping has been found so far should not be interpreted as an all-clear. It could only mean that it is difficult – under current circumstances perhaps even impossible – to detect such attacks effectively.

Scientific enough?
76 up’s / 68 down’s on OP’s post.
It’s very close, still the majority wins, that’s how it works, if not happy change the system not the voters.
Maybe not 24x7 but this did happened and people have reported it multiple times. If you really think those multi-billion dollars companies are not capable of or won’t do anything so sketchy because it’s not “worth it”, then it’s time to open your mind to the possibility that those companies are not your friends.
While I do get most of them, I’m really confused by NOR
and XNOR
.
Why is there suddenly and out of bound mask outside the circles? (If that does make sense :/)
PS: sorry for the serious question XD I probably don’t get the joke?
I get your feeling :) Don’t worry the silent majority is on your side. However they won’t comment because they fear from being banned or backslashed…
While It can’t be proven or disapproved, I also had my share of strange coincidence where my mind goes “Huh? How is that even possible?”… Kinda strange feeling! But that feeling gave me the push to the privacy route maybe in a rather to extreme direction? Always follow your guts when there’s to much noise to make a clear decision.
You will never get full 100% privacy or anonymity, however you can make your data as much as difficult to get and waste some of their resource and time :).
Good luck !
Yeah… This was probably intentional. Now we get why ! They didn’t put to much effort for the self-hosted version, because they didn’t want you to self-host.
Haha kinda scary !! XD
Yeah I tried readeck and while it does better than the others it still doesn’t use single file (or I missed some configuration?)
I do like it because it even transcribes YouTube videos and that’s very neat ! However, I work lot on superuser, stack*,ask* pages which aren’t properly scraped and render with their comments.
The only perfect working solution I found was singlefile + Zotero.
