I was going from ind to den. The cheapest was $600 round trip. A flight is $150-300 and driving would have cost about $450 in gas. Flight and drive would have me arriving the same day.

It really is crazy how bad the US rail system is. The last time I was taking a trip of about 1000 miles, I looked into taking amtrak. Not only was it more expensive than driving or flying, but it would take significantly longer as well, at 3 days. I know the train themselves are moving faster, and it’s due to stops, but that’s like 15mh average speed. What year is it?!?

I like how the handler said they are “friendly to humans.” I wonder if they are actually “friendly” or if he just means docile, like if they aren’t threatened and you’re gentle,you could probably just pick one up and they’d be fine with it, probably because you’re warm.

I see many folks here mentioning Dave Chapelle as a right-wing comedian, which is a joke in itself. Dave Chapelles’ personal politics and much of the politics mentioned in his stand-up are not right-wing. He has a blend of center right/center left beliefs and supports progressive candidates. I understand there is controversy with his LGBTQ+ material and commentary, but that does not make all of his politics right-wing. This strikes me as coming from people who have little exposure to the black American community, where these attitudes are prevalent regardless of the individuals’ other politics. It is slowly improving, but it isn’t great. Frankly, I don’t know why it is he continues to antagonize and harp on this for hours at a time. It is very strange and I know he’s capable of much funnier material.

I didn’t say it couldn’t, just that it is improbable for myriad reasons. Not many beverage druggings occurring in well lit, highly staffed, low customer restaurants. Unless the drugger was in this person’s group, it would be pretty unusual.

The only way this story makes sense is if it occurred in the south, where they have club Applebee’s. Otherwise, I have a lot of questions about how this would even occur.
