It’s ok. They think they’re intelligent, but also think that machibe learning models can’t be biased. They have no self-awareness, and are incapable of understanding that they don’t know what they’re talking about.

I semi-routinely get food for beggars. Gift cards, even. I don’t carry cash, but if someone says they’re trying to get enough money for food, I offer to just buy them what they need. They almost always say yes, and, especially in winter, you can tell it means a lot, at least in the moment.
On my first payday, post graduation, I did this for some kid who seemed clean by really skinny. He picked out frozen chicken nuggets, and seemed just so happy and grateful. That’s stuck with me.
Individualism for me, fashion police for you!

Which means the company is lying. Respond to them with this knowledge in hand, any way that you see as appropriate.
The post has “as a neurodivergent person” right in the first line. Who do you think is in the comments?
Seems like an opportunity to use this in attack PP’s tax-cut rhetoric, and to attack the oft-repeated talking points from business that tax increases will be passed on to consumers.
Tax cuts are eaten by businesses, so long as the businesses believe that people will continue to buy. Tax increases will also be eaten by businesses, so long as the businesses believe that people will refuse to buy at a higher price. It’s all being taken by or from shareholders.
It’s a shame no political entities will actually touch this with anything more pointed or useful than “that’s appalling!”
If they failed to steal that one, they were going to steal the next one. 2000 wasn’t some kind of fluke. It was an organized, targeted effort to change tje political landscape, and it had been in progrwss for many years at that point. They weren’t going to stop if they fell a little short.
This is still validating the profit incentive of private health insurance.
If the doctor prescribes unnecessary care, it should be none of these peoples’ business, because they shouldn’t be allowed any stake in the decision whatsoever.
Gotta love the review blurb from Roper: “The three brothers … held the key.”
Imagine your essential services are all run for profit, by entities with the goal of maximizing profits and minimizing service.
I can’t wait for the future where we’re paying subscription fees for a thousand separate essential services and the libertarians start suggestinf thet there should just be a service that provides a single source for paying and managing all of tjose subscriptions.
“Don’t accept accomodations for things you could use help with, just git gud scrub” is one of the more ablist things I’ve seen on Lemmy. Congrautlations on being the biggest fucking prick I’ve seem today.
Now, include the environmental costs of some of these tools, and whether they’re a) running at a loss or not in order to gain market share, and b) whether they’re the tools people are even using.
Do we still come out ahead? Are the minutes saved - if there are truly any - actually saved, or just shoveled onto someone else’s plate as environmental damage?
What’s the big picture here? Because society honestly should not give a flying fuck if your job becomes slightly easier at the cost of everybody else.
The ruling class, against whom the internet was a critical tool in the name of democracy, decided they were not going to let us have that tool anymore.
Mine warn me only when it’s purposeful. As you say, if I change output devices, and the sound is too loud, it says nothing. It literally only interferes with me doing something I’m purposefully choosing to do, and failing to protect me from shit I’m doing accidentally.
Do… Do you actually think you’re being downvoted by people cheering on Johnny Fuckinf Depp? Or are you just whining because you’re learning that your bad takes are also bad?
Umm, it’s November, and in Canada. Is it ok if I wait until April?
Well, the crypto bros only seem to come up with scammy uses for crypto, whereas cash can be exchanged for goods and services.
Sure, and all 5 people who were using torrents in 2002 were having a grand old time with them, too, I’m sure.
