I’m often not waiting for ideal conditions, just less bad conditions. This evening I made some progress on something I’ve not been working on because I’ve just been too exhausted, mentally and physically. Conditions don’t have to be ideal, but they’re often more than sub-optimal.

I changed my first name in part because of this kind of nonsense. In the old days companies would refer to you as Mr. Surname, these days they’re gross and chummy. Stay in your lane, we’re not friends, you can use my paperwork name that I have no emotional connection to.

I find it an active hindrance to my work. To the point where I have written tools to read data from it via the API rather than use its infuriating interface.

I’m glad it works for you but to me it’s a bit too minimalist. Its user interface is comparable to the forums I was using in 2002. I’d rather something more akin to the ones I was using in 2006.

I use both Redmine and Jira at work. I don’t know if we’re using an older version but Redmine feels like something from 2001. Even the API for it is unpleasant.
