If I put it away I might never know it exists again. On the other hand the clutter means I can’t find what’s right in front of me. It’s hell in here.

Thanks. I might check it out again. It’s been over a decade since I’ve used it.
Does that include raster editing? I liked KritasUI but I’m not an artist.
The commentary will turn your brain to puree, though.
Good point. I think doing nothing at all is always a bad idea.
And even with hindsight I still don’t know if it would have been better to do the stuff, some of the stuff or nothing.
Ah. Well that’s what matters.

I used ffmpeg in a terminal because I’m familiar with typing commands. That way I could have it loop through them all.
For most people though I’d recommend using a graphical program though. Audacity is free. You can drag and drop an mp4 file (for example) into the window and it immediately gives you the audio to export to mp3 or whatever you like.
Another online commenter explained how to use VLC to do it too: “I’ve found that VLC media player will help with this trick. Open the .mp4 (or any audio file). Once opened, go up to the Media menu and Add your file(s) to the File Selection list. Then select Covert/Save at the bottom. In the Save window that appears, click on the down arrow found on the “Convert/Save” button at the bottom and select Convert. In that window that appears, change the Profile to the format you want (assuming Audio - MP3), give it a Destination, then Start. In just a couple moments, you’ll have an mp3. It’s the very colour we’re not supposed to see at night though, if we want to sleep.
Sleep studies have found that even the standby light on a TV impacts sleep negatively.
I’ve converted Star Trek: The Next Generation to mp3 (all seven seasons) to get the entertainment without the blue light.
This sounds so positive. There’s still no room for complacency since money and profit are only one “currency”.
We’ve seen people happily pour small fortunes into online platforms to be able to distort public discourse. No profit involved there directly.
If you could entirely separate humans from the process, then there would be nobody to design and build it.
Kiitos. That took me down an interesting rabbit hole. There’s even a song inspired by it.

You can’t separate humans from any process. The risks with nuclear are the risks of the most reliable person to eventually work at the plant. It might not be today or tomorrow, but it’s a possibility.

"I had a client with three young children, who believed that she had to keep abreast of the details of the Middle East conflict. This meant that once her children were finally in bed, she would find herself scrolling for hours in an attempt to stay up-to-date and knowledgeable on what is happening.
She believed that to be a conscientious and caring human, it is something she had to do."
I think we do have to keep somewhat abreast of what’s going on. Some brands we support could be complicit. We might be voting for the very people who are fuelling the horrors that are unfolding around the world.
We as people just aren’t built to process the volume of information that’s available nowadays though and spending hours attempting to do so isn’t the answer. On the other hand, I’m not sure that we should be unaffected by what’s happening to our fellow humans either. Looking after our own well-being has to be a part of the equation though.
