The death penalty has not been executed in NY/federal court for decades right? Doesn’t seem like an actual threat. What they want to achieve is a good negotiating position for a plea bargain because they known a trial will be a shitshow.

Yeah I was going to say this. Just because their pay is shit, does not make TSA employees nice people.
I really hope that nobody sets up a bot that calls this new hotline 24/7 from different numbers.
The trick is that (Eastern) Europe is filled with NATO troops and material from all countries. You would need an extremely nasty retreat of these troops if you do not support (say) Poland. Also at the moment (officially) the US has stationed nuclear weapons in 6 European countries, and there are very likely more also in the form of submarines that are not known to the public. Retreating means leaving those weapons in Russian hands. Then again, maybe Trump does not care about that.
Al Gore is not like the others. Yes you might say he became the nominee because it was his turn. But, he also had extremely good policy ideas that were very different from “not being Trump “.
Wasn’t there a candidate during the last election who wanted to legalise cannabis?
Yes, but it is really inefficient. If we simply ignore the nuke threat it would probably take the US a month of bombing to restore pre 2014 borders.
I am guessing that outside of the frontlines bombings are still fairly rare events. Risk is low enough for installing proper windows, but high enough to ensure there are not enough.
While this may be correct, it is worth pointing out that NATO member states (especially those on front lines) host soldiers from other NATO states. That means Americans would be in Ukraine (as they are currently in e.g. Estonia). The EU does not have a similar military component.
In that case you should make sure that the person dies very close to the hole you dug. Bodies are heavy! This is one of the main reasons why it’s very difficult to perform the perfect murder.
I do! I usually buy an annual supply in the Netherlands because it is much cheaper than in other European countries. No alarms were ever raised (obviously since otc pharmacies are entirely anonymous). Again, the price difference between countries gives a strong indication of the profit motive involved.
The argument about blisters sounds ridiculous. Do you really believe you will stop an addict from his addiction because he has to push a bit harder.
How exactly do small packages limit use? There is no limit to the amount of packages you can buy. However, those small packages are severely overpriced. I think it’s safe to say that profit considerations played a role in their design.
I have never heard of this in the context of ibuprofen. I know it’s bad on the stomach which means you shouldn’t take it for long periods of time (unless prescribed by a doctor). However, when the source of the pain disappears it’s pretty easy to kick the habit. Very different from opioids that are addictive beyond their painkilling ability.
Also between European countries the price of otc painkillers differs tremendously, and my impression is that European pharmacies generally only sell small packages in an effort to maximise profits.
But the issue is that Democratic representatives get punished for the actions of a tiny subset of their voters.
Let me be more clear: the votes aren’t there. You would like to believe that you as a progressive who is frustrated with Dems for not being progressive enough is a large enough constituency. I would like that to be the case as well. Unfortunately, almost all progressives voted on Kamala (and on HRC before that), and it’s just not enough.
Which is what exactly? So many captain hindsights here.
I really really hope that they will enact their economic agenda before their racist agenda. When they denaturalize and deport citizens, half of us will be cheering (unfortunately). When the price of electronics/ cars increases it distributes harm to all.
Anybody who cares about Green policy should vote against Trump.
Also what’s the political calculus for Kemp? Maga hates him, because he has issues with Trump, on account of not stealing the election. Here he gets to signal his bipartisanship by saying he worked with Biden to raise the wage of teachers. Shouldn’t that be the savvier move in a purple state?
When we think cost of living we mostly think about rent and cost of food. The rich don’t pay rent and food is a tiny fraction of their budget, so obviously they don’t complain.
