  • You can get whatever you want, but you have a $37,849.45 bill because you used the wrong door.

See, that door you used was operated by Attenya Healathus, not the Hospital, which is operated by Wellmeat (formerly Agape Plalauthis) so your care was not covered. If you had entered through the door (as outlined in your EOB) to the right, it would’ve only been an $800 copay for your splinter removal.

  • Semi related, recently I was referred to what I thought was a “specialist” from my doctor for a thing but I couldn’t myself determine if they were in-network with my insurance. Turns out what was implied to be a specialist was actually just a company that determines where to send people for this specific service, so we’re at the point that a primary care provider is working with a 4th party to deal with the 1st party and the 5th party is running services at the 2nd party and I am 1) the person responsible to figure out this insanity and 2) will likely be billed an obscene amount of money for something that should’ve been a 1:1 convo with a doctor and a hospital because one or five of the likely 30 people across 8 companies missed an email. (And you know all those people are they themselves dealing with the same nightmare and probably being paid a paltry $15/hr.

  • The most infuriating thing about that whole plot arc was that the people bringing the case to the Supreme Court had absolutely no standing to even file a complaint, and Biden’s actions were actually, through any logical reading of the law, completely within his authority, but they were like “lol no”

and Biden, a consummate Democrat, just was like “well that’s all we can do, corpo has spoken.”

I am still convinced Harris lost in most states because people were looking for Biden’s name on the ballot and couldn’t find Kamala so they just circled Trump.

  • this (mind you, single country made of disparate states) was only contentiously “settled” about 300 years ago—Europe has had a pretty consistent and coherent cultural thrust for thousands of years, regardless of various clan-based spats, and a consistent build up of infrastructure to match. The US is the product of stolen land, a whole lot of racism and slavery and then being thrust into the center of the world stage right at the point when means of conveyance drastically shifted from ships and trains to planes and cars. the end result is the completely horrific infrastructure of the modern US landscape.

  • that’s part of it, but also the continental US is massive and divided by two pretty impactful mountain ranges. Not defending our lack of train infrastructure but we came of age pretty much in line with the rise of the Jet era along with our culture of individualism and the massive expansion of public interstate hiways due to one specific president’s expierence as them being useful tools for self powered land based military vehicles so obviously that was prioritized over investing in new rail infrastructure in the interceding years.

Point being, there’s a lot of spinning plates involved with why we are where we are in regards our national rail network—would be nice to hop on an hourly train and zoop from Boston to LA in 6 hrs for like $50 but we also just elected Trump again for incomprehensible reasons so in all likelihood there will be a nuclear wasteland in between those two cities, which will need additional plates to be spun up to deal with.

  • News Flash, there are other elections that happen in the US every year that are more influential and important for national issues than the presidency.

Maybe take your weird hatred of the failure-of-the-democratic-party-not-being-as-progressive-as-you-want energy and focus that on:

    • getting local city councilors, mayors and county clerks etc. elected who represent your political ideology,
    • getting state legislators and other officials elected who represent your political ideology,
    • getting judges elected (where applicable) who understand the codified and written law and are willing to execute it as written,
    • maybe even (SHOCK) getting congresspeople elected who match your political ideology.

I know this might be hard to understand, but there are a myriad of elected officials that comprise our federal system and focusing on THE PRESIDENCY alone will never make anything meaningfully change.

And for anyone who skews even the least bit toward NOT WANTING FACISM to take hold in this country of The United States of America, just fucking vote for Kamala Harris you stupid asshole.
