The real deal y0
Me during code reviews of other people
Possible ye, the 65m sounds familiar, but they wouldnt have known the difference haha
Hehehehehe.
I once printed this one at an old job and put the actual days there for 2 million years ( give or take, 365*2mil ) and put it on the board that had employee information on it ( reports of the committee, event news, job listings etc ) and by the next day a lot of people wrote on it that they were very confused and didnt get it.
… I laughed my arse off with the thought of all the confused faces haha.
This was in an elderly home btw haha
3,5,7, 12 and 13 for me haha
You and i read different things. I hated how he worded them, but his arguments at greppable and understandable are valid arguments that go beyond rust and if he can read it or not or refuses to.
Mixing languages in a part of a project brings complexity and is often a huge ass nono because it makes things unreadable and hard to manage on a large scale.
He also argues that a c interface exists to connect 2 parts of a system. The person that changes the interface should not have to alter the users of that interface, if they do then you get intertwined dependencies, which is a huge ass red flag for developers that something has gone terrible wrong and the project is not going to scale or will be easy to change.
So if he changes the interface, the rust team will need to fix it, specially since they are the minority.
That also doesnt mean he can change it in whatever way without worry, it is an interface change, that needs discussions and approvals ahead of time ofc.
You seem to be in the loops of the linux kernel?
If so, ive known hector from way before when we was part of f0f, or TT as they were known before, doing wii homebrew work.
What you describe is what my experience was with him 14 years ago too. The guy is smart, he has a very good skill set and knowledge, but his communication skills were lacking back then too.
Granted, both he and myself were still teenagers and students and we were wild, but i had always assumed he grew up a bit since then…
What you said is spot on, and i hope he does read both of these. And if he does :
Marcan, you might not know who i am anymore, but ffs man. Dont screw up your love for all of these by keep kicking the hornets nests. You did it with devkitpro, emudevs when the nier news dropped and with rossman too. Stop it, its for your own good.
Jokes on you, master is locked and can not be pushed to in repos i manage at work
No, its not in gottem. I checked a few months ago
( gottem is a place in belgium: https://maps.app.goo.gl/9qFUiUz46K1m4bNm6 )
Dan moejer wa westvlaams bij smijte. Elemaal niemeer leesbaar dan :p
Muhheheheuhe (muggengeheugen) xD
Thats just belgians in a nutshell. They tend to be very closed off, they will never say what they think to peoples face
I disagree, hard. Wallonia has the ardennes which is more than a camping spot. A family trip there for a week is sweet. Waking up in the hills, only seeing trees and hear water and birds is heaven. Sit by the pool if its hot 👌
Then there is night sky photography, hiking paths, monuments, caves, …
Jokes on you, its both!
…with germany jr also there
^ this.
The media outreach of one person was huge and is a bigger risk to transfer than the other. Ill let you all figure out who is who
Belgium, “13th month” also exists here. And it being a legal thing, i wonder if this is what people mean when they talk about work bonus on the other side of the world.
Its, afaik, the same as a pay before tax, but the tax is higher than with an actual paycheck. Doesnt mean it isnt a nice chunk of money ( 70-80% of a paycheck )
Sure, but then they shouldnt complain. Stuff break on linux too and when fixing them you also often have to open a terminal. When things are broken, a terminal is often the goto on any system…
Exactly. Linux mint was fine on my laptop, but only later i had to upgrade kernel for the amd drivers, but overall its the closest to a spotless experience ive had. But what you said is 1000% correct!
Longer != difficult. Windows installs are easy as fuck and id say its as simple as linux mint.
The debloating is a choice and id say thats the same amount of work as installing stuff in linux because what it comes with is very limited.
Im a linux mint user btw
Vlc is basically what it is because of ffmpeg and the likes, which are… Corporate supported :p
That said ffmpeg didnt start that way, but at one point it was and vlc quickly jumped into popularity because of it and it quickly supporting new formats ( like mkv back in 2003/2004 ).
Youre not wrong, but its more complex than that xD
Im not saying you are defending them, youre just missing a lot of stuff that happened around ai and nvidia in your comment and whatever genai we have now isnt all because of nvidia. That its locked to nvidia is because of what they did before ai hit public eyes.
Current genAI also has not much to do with nvidia besides programs being based on cuda which uses nvidia’s tensor cores for neural processing. From a technical standpoint, nothing ai has to do with nvidia, they just played smart ( and unfair ).
Yes, but also no. Its a spam bot that basically sends a msg to everyone haha.
We just laugh with it hehe
