So far the council says it has spent $1,500 (£1,190) on removing googly eyes from seven of the eight sculptures affected.
I’ll do it for $1000!
Seriously, what is the cost involved in removing googly eyes from metal sculptures, other than wages you’d be paying anyway for the employee that cleans it up? I could buy maybe they have to use some special adhesive remover to protect it long term, but $1500 worth??
I just saw that! At the time I was making my comment I thought, “or they add federal charges,” but I didn’t think it was going to happen. Shows how useless it is to outlaw the death penalty on the state level when the federal government can selectively apply the death penalty in state level cases.
Did you talk to whoever picked up the phone or a manager? A manager should be able to deal with the code issue, while a cashier probably couldn’t. If it was someone that could fix it and just refused or didn’t care, that’s indeed infuriating
The death penalty is outlawed in New York, isn’t it? Not that he can’t have an “accident” or some shit in prison.
Last time I looked (years ago, admittedly) you’d also have to know what you were looking for to find it. Like a plain box with no pictures that just says “personal massager”. You can find racier stuff in a Spencer’s.
The real freaks are the ones that use the Thursday dildo on Tuesday. Once you’re that far gone there’s no coming back.
It’s probably a split between that and people who naturally metabolize opiates faster due to a genetic variation.
Clearly it’s that doctors with contracts with United Healthcare are twice as likely to be fraudulent. Widespread conspiracy among doctors is just the only reasonable explanation!
What remains is a discussion of the benefits of abstinence and a cursory review of various sexually transmitted diseases.
Oh hey, that’s the sex ed we got in my school. Along with at least 4 pregnant girls I knew of under 17 in a very small rural school. The youngest was 13.
If the people “teaching” us ever connected those facts, it wasn’t apparent to me.
It’s basically the same tactic, convince them that you’re too much of a pain in the ass to deal with and they should just give you what you want to get you to go away. Only it’s for accessing your own fucking healthcare that you pay them money for and not, you know, avoiding paying child support or truck payments.
That’s a fair point! But I can’t imagine that these things are impossible to take apart, if only for the sake of maintenance. Like, I wouldn’t expect them to do it on site, but somewhere up the line someone has to be capable of modifying it to fit.
Cut another fucking hole in the strap, this isn’t rocket surgery.
If he had killed him it wouldn’t have been a children’s movie, lol
That’s a reasonable concern. For context, from their 2023 financial report, they spend $391 million on everything they do; even if you add all those salaries you posted together, that’s still about 99 cents out of every dollar going where you want it to go.
I don’t disagree that it’s an obscene salary, but for the most part that’s how the big charities work in the US. You have to either go with small, local charities or shrug and accept that around 1% of your donation will go to someone getting overpaid. It sucks!

So were all the people who died from denied care so he could buy a yacht or fourth house or whatever.
Boy, are the aliens going to be embarrassed by this one.
Yeah, definitely depends on how much/if they care about randoms moving about the scene.
This is probably dependent on location, but IME they close street parking for filming.
