If I ever get around to writing my own language, it’s going to take parse trees off the disk, so people can deparse them into whatever they want and STFU.

Honestly, I’m young, and I know older people that would spend it better than their failkids.
That’s not everyone, of course, but maybe instead of blaming people born at a slightly different time we should focus on being mad that there’s no non-hereditary path to wealth in the first place.
I wouldn’t put it past them. The one I saw climb into the hay loft on an upright human ladder knew what it was doing. Ditto for the time they excavated out a secret base under the deck and started laying eggs inside.
Never a dull moment with those guys.
Flying short distances and ability to expand your neck like 4x also looks cool.
Like the cow one that’s just a sequence of differently-capitalised moos.
Old silicon, like IBM or something?
I’m not involved enough to really comment on that, but it’s not a 14 year old joke as much as a 1 or 2 year old joke if so.
Glad to hear it’s taking off. Hopefully browsers migrate to supporting it natively and depreciating JavaScript next.
Now the trick is to get through the resume filter, and make sure this guy interviews you. Then, FAANG job FTW.
Few people use just Typescript, though - there’s always dangerously exposed native libraries in the mix.
Look at those butthurt downvotes, haha. Currently 2 - 4.
Let me reach around mine to give you an upvote.
If a chicken could code, it would probably work like JavaScript. This is accurate.
When I had a flock, for example, sometimes one would flip over a bucket onto itself and then decide it must be night and go to sleep.
Yeah, this is why I’ve been slow moving over to a password manager. A single cliff-like failure point scares me.
Considering it was a bomb, it’s doing surprisingly well. The handlebars are missing and it’s warped in the picture I saw.
Magical boxes aside, people understand and pay attention to things that are of direct personal interest to them. Transit schedules, typical prices of things in their area and so on. Which garbage bins to check if you’re really poor, how to avoid taxes if you’re really rich.
So, I guess it wouldn’t be, but people actually aren’t stupid or apathetic (about their own life) in general.
I fully expect that they can hide pretty well at night. They’ll take modest losses maybe, but wiping them out completely while the forces looking for them get picked off by helicopters is a tall order.
The latter, it’s not even close. Infantry hasn’t changed that much, air combat is like night and day (sometimes literally).
See all the cases where modern militaries have had their asses handed to them by guys with WWII surplus weapons.
Hmm. Where are you? That could make sense if you’re in the third world.
In Canada it’s around and mainstream, although not ubiquitous.
From what I’ve heard, the move is to substitute in a monitor.
I wouldn’t go that far, but I see little evidence that young people deserve it more.
Lemmy seems to be pretty mad about their allowance, basically. It’s weird, usually the vibe is more that everyone else works at a FAANG.
