I’ve been saying this for ages, yes. I think reality talk shows started the downfall, like springer. I grew up around a lot of trashy people and I swear reality shit tv like this convinced them that acting up in public is not just normal but acceptable.

There’s a lot of book bannings going on right now especially books with any mention of the lgbt or civil rights in particular. And the bans are getting passed because the hard-right conservatives are taking over the school boards. Depending on where you live you might be dealing with that when your kid starts elementary.
