Best would be to search up BTRFS vs ZFS, or listen the the entire back catalog of 2.5admins; they regularly discuss both. ZFS is probably what you want, I only went BTRFS because it is what I got introduced to via OpenSUSE

Of course you will have an outlier doctor who gives terrible advice, but doctors will do their best for treatment (physical/mental) to help people. A dying patient with severe pain was always given palletive care options, and now there is an extra option. My friends dad had incurable cancer, and constant suffering, and given a month at most. He asks for MAID because he said why would I want 4 weeks more pain/suffering when I can choose my own ending.

When I started learning Linux there was so much hype around Arch…I installed it and then Meh pretty much like any other Linux, except things weren’t tweaked to function as a cohesive whole. Arch people complaining about btrfs filling drive, or nVidia issues. So I went back to OpenSUSE Leap. It works. Btrfs snapshotting built in to any time you alter system, backend chronjobs for balance and cleanup. nVidia driver hosted directly by nVidia and specific for OpenSUSE. Why would I want life on hard mode.
Does it? I’m on NixOS and OpenSUSE, both have been good. OpenSUSE using nVidia own maintained repo seems this avoid graphical glitches
I assume since the Linux kernel doesn’t care what executable code gets run in memory, it was an engine that adda info for system call translations. Could be wrong, they did not elaborate.
Just conveying what coders say, can’t comment on which engines. But since Linux doesn’t care what binary it loads into memory to execute it doesn’t seem hard to support a translation layer.

IF you are a distro hopper try openSUSE, nVidia maintains a repo on their own servers for the SUSE/OpenSUSE drivers. I have not had any GPU issues for 7 years.
