  • “There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and cartridge (or ammo). Please use in that order.”

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_boxes_of_liberty

They’ve all but taken the soap box, we have “free speech zones” to “safely” protest out of sight, and when we ignore those the media either doesn’t cover it, or gives the most unflattering description, taking the side of corporations (see: Amazon strikes framed in "how will this affect your Christmas delivery. A.k.a: be mad at the employees)

They’ve taken the ballot box with Citizens United literally paving the way for what Elmo Muskrat is doing now: buying elections. We can’t elect the people we’d want to elect.

They’ve taken the jury through the elimination of the teaching of the concept of jury nullification (but also doesn’t apply in this specific situation) and have taken the Judiciary through ratfuckery (see: Mitch McTurtle refusing to seat any SCOTUS judges when it’s a Democrat picking them)

So all we’re left with is the “cartridge” or, ammo box.

They force this on us but “thankfully” at least some of us won’t just let us keep getting steamrolled. :/

As to how this could be a “movement.” It isn’t. It’s one person choosing the ammo box because like the rest of us he felt hopeless and took the only action he felt could achieve anything at all. (It did: see blue cross blue shield reversing their anesthesia charging plan right after the shooting) There was also the “renewal” of the conversation about healthcare which all but vanished. Check the “issues” from exit polling, healthcare barely showed up. Whenever healthcare was discussed previously it was in the framing of “people love their private insurance!” that being told to us by the media. Now the discussion is “maybe there’s a larger issue if people from left to right are all supportive of what Luigi did.”

  • It’s actually a reference to Brick House, the lyrics:

    "Ow, she’s a brick house

She’s mighty-mighty, just lettin’ it all hang out. She’s a brick house. That lady’s stacked and that’s a fact. Ain’t holding nothing back"

Referring to the demeanor of Dr.House and how he lets it all hang out, and holds nothing back.

    :P

moreover the idea that Marxists have never achieved change ignores the existence of the USSR, Cuba, PRC, Vietnam, Laos, and so forth

I think they meant that “we” are the target of the meme as the virgin Marxists not successful revolutions of the past.

  • It’s seriously the dumbest thing in the world…

Like ok maga dude, you don’t think a burger flipper deserves any more money than they currently make because they don’t do anything “extra” or “difficult.” What in the absolute fuck makes you think that a corporation that makes more profit will suddenly pay you more when you’re not doing anything “extra” or more difficult than you were previously?

A company that keeps more profit than they did previously just keeps more profit than they did previously. They don’t suddenly decide to increase unnecessary expenditures.

It’s not that strange when you consider they are a major tool in the class war. We do still have elections, and so whoever the ownership class can’t buy they need to have their outlets convince us not to vote for.

There is no “unbiased” media when it’s corporate media.

It wasn’t meant to appear that way. I wasn’t trying to speak of the supposed billionaire in a good fashion, just that at the end of the day money is only used to get someone to do something which even the billionaire needs to do as they don’t labor, others do on their behalf. In the case of the billionaire it’s actually a huge issue in this respect as they have a massive amount of potential energy to inspire a ton of work that could be, and is, used against us.

Even if the person has already done the work, they did it for the promise of money they can then use to have someone else do something (or have already done something and are trading the fruits of their labor for the “energy deficit.”)

The promise of money is the inspiration to expend energy.
