Yeah, pretty much. I’m not saying it isn’t weird, and I’m also not saying they don’t idolize him, but this picture is just how evangelicals treat other evangelicals. Nothing scandalous or newsworthy, IMO.

Having know some evangelicals, it doesn’t hold any huge significance. They’ll lay hands on someone who has a broken arm to pray to God to heal it, so it’s not like this is a huge honor. Still weird, but this isn’t a sign of them idolizing him, especially compared to that golden goat statue with Trump’s face on $100 bills. The goat is literal blasphemy, but “laying hands” is just how evangelicals normally act…
I’m not a lawyer, but I know they can put enough leins on a property to take possession of it. I’m pretty sure police will also forcefully remove someone who’s violating civil trespassing laws, but again, not a lawyer.
Local ordinances can also make things like camping on private property illegal. That would be at the city level, but really an HOA is just another form of local government so I’d argue that counts too.
Yeah, racism is considered normal in many parts of the world and you wouldn’t have a progressive spouse/partner, they’d both be racist.
Local ordinances and HOA CC&Rs can make it illegal to live on your own land unless you meet certain requirements, like having a specific type of permanent building (eg. no manufactured homes).
Wifi chips have their own firmware that could have a backdoor. If it’s connected to the CPU over PCI-E or another interface that supports DMA then it’s also able to inject code into the main system even if it’s running FOSS firmware.

Really? I’ve been seeing articles about how chatgpt is insecure garbage for a couple years now.
This one is a buzzword.
In case anyone missed it, I found this comment interesting (from the blog, not Lemmy):
Brian you can also find this Finn Grimpe character has a court case under his company ‘HostPlanet’ from 2016. Looking into this more, it was known since then that he was the owner.
He was likely turned and made it into a honeypot ever since considering he and florian (aka “Jason”) have not been arrested and only a single admin was.
Sorry, I realized I misread your earlier post. I missed the word “trying,” and it sounded like your were saying the device might not be connected to the internet even though it’s successfully pinging a server.
No, it doesn’t depend on the router. The device can either send traffic to other devices on the internet or it can’t. If the device can ping something on the internet, then it is connected to the internet. It’s a tautology.
The only way some IT guy can notice it pinging the outside world is if it’s connected to the internet.
Thanks, I honestly want expecting that kind of a response.
I’m sure there are some who voted out of protest, but only someone who identifies as a Democrat/leftist would vote for Trump out off protest.
Another reason I’ve heard is that Trump doesn’t try to hide his bad side. Democrat (read: neoliberal) policies tend to favor corporations over individuals, and homeowners over renters. Guess which race is more likely to own home and have a stock portfolio?
You didn’t answer my question, have you ever (honestly) wondered why PoC would vote for Trump over a Democrat? You have every right to criticize them, but it doesn’t sound like you’ve put any thought into why they disagree with you. The result is you will say things that alienate and dehumanize them, which is counterproductive.
You’re saying that no sane PoC would vote for Trump, when a significant number of PoC voted for him. That sounds a lot like you’re saying their perspective is invalid and they need to adopt your perspective. Hence, it follows the noble savage trope.
Have you ever wondered why they would vote for someone who openly says racist things?
Not sure which you’re referring to, but here are some links:
No one is suggesting fascism as an alternative to democracy. But fascism isn’t the root of the problem, it’s a symptom. Trump didn’t put himself in power, he was elected. Trump isn’t the root cause, and if we refuse to focus on anything other than the republican party we won’t be able to find the root case. And without knowing the root cause it’s hopeless to look to a solution.
