Yeah First Blood actually had a little bit to say, it wasn’t just an action movie

Yeah I was gonna say it’s already happened
We had a story in my area about a dealer who wouldn’t sell to members of the local SRA or something like that recently too, guess he felt threatened by a bunch of queer brown folks
Terrorism just boils down to “political violence against non-combatants”.
And by that definition yes the US government is 100% a terrorist organization
I wish I would’ve met you… but now it’s a little late.
It’s got big “swords to plowshares” energy I can tell you that much
Actually lol’d myself into a coughing fit
Yeah you’re probably thinking of McKenna. He was real into talking about the elves he met on DMT.
He gave Ted K a good review, and Ted was anti-civilization post-left. So who knows
All I can think of
Tbh it’s been a while since I read much past the first few sections.
That said, he was MKULTRA’d real hard. I wouldn’t be too surprised if some Terrence McKenna-type weirdness snuck in there.
So did MLK. See: Letter From a Birmingham Jail
I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.
I seriously want to clap every time I read it
Yeah you’re probably right. I’ve gotta get a new phone before I can really attempt it, but I’ll at least try!
If you’ve never read Ted K, I recommend it. It’s not an easy read, but he wasn’t wrong.
I use a small local credit union that doesn’t appear on their supported list. It’s literally the only thing holding me back, I’m tempted to say fuck it anyway. But I wonder if it might work anyway…
Yeah honestly once I got past my BIOS problems everything else has been a breeze. Driver install and updates all went flawlessly. I played around with Linux a tiny bit in decades past (usually just to fix something and get back to Windows), so I was a little concerned about it at first, but, as they say… shit just works 🤷♂️
I just learned about btop and nvim, I’ll check those out :) thanks
Haven’t had any trouble, connects right up. What are you experiencing?
Just brutal.
I once saw a guy nail his hand to a wall with a big ol 16 penny ringshank l, they had to cut him loose with a sawzall. Hoo boy you heard him holler.
I always combined this scene, that memory, and the one time I stepped on a nail in Boy Scouts into one “respect the presence of pointy things” lesson/memory
