That was quite the read! May you find the vehicle that suits you when the time comes. I hope to buy one more EV and for society to figure things out so I won’t need another one after that. Managed until my 30s without a car and starting a family made it necessary. I hope that will end eventually.
Did you see the Hyundai Ioniq 6? Or the very new Kia EV4? They look very “modern” but then again I’d say ICE cars are constantly changing design too.
Well, our Kona is a weird crossover-y thing but otherwise literally identical to its ICE brothers.
Maybe Peugeot, Citroen and similar are what you are after? The new Peugeot 308 electric is pretty “boring” - it’s not an amazing EV but better than what they had before
Putin is a violent, ruthless dictator supported by a corrupt oligarchy. While he might claim to borrow ideas from communism, 9/10 people I have heard supporting communism hate Putin.
And while I don’t really like conservatives, I also think it’s unfair to most conservatives to pretend Trump is “just conservative”.
Apart from China, Hyundai/Kia is producing really great EVs. And the German brands have viable ones that might eventually catch up to Korea and China now that they’re taking it more seriously. Renault is really getting it lately and even Stellantis is coming with new platforms that are pretty good. The Japanese have invested more in anti-EV-propaganda than in EVs.
We have a Hyundai Kona from 2019 and it’s an amazing car. Every single person who ever tried it never wants to drive an ICE again. And this is an old low-to-mid-end vehicle. Our next EV is definitely going to be a lot better.
I’m sure batteries would have progressed more quickly if they had been chosen as the preferred path 100 years ago.
Big oil forced that shit onto you instead of going the far superior EV route from the beginning. Now EVs are finally taking over and I’m happy my kids never have to get fuel grease on their hands and suffer those nasty fumes at gas stations. Shifters were needed for an inferior technology to work. I liked it as an experience when I learned to drive. But cars are mostly transport due to failure of better public transport infrastructure. I don’t care whether they’re fun. I drive for fun on the Xbox or maybe in a GoKart every few years.
Oh that felt good to rant.
What commies? This makes no sense?!
We need to hold them accountable and stop looking the other way. But more hate and destruction will not solve anything.
Where we live they phased out Duo and force&switched us to Family even though we’re only two. That was a year ago or so
That’s what I’m wondering too!
This sounds neat. But we’ve used protractor with Gherkin years ago. Even at my current job we use BDD a lot. What’s new here? The comparison table is honestly very Apple-like: just pick something you know you’ll beat and dumb the comparison down a lot to leave little room for fact-checking.
I’m not saying this is bad software. I’m saying it’s not being sold well to someone that has been in this space for a while. It seems to mainly sell to people that have never heard of Gherkin/Cucumber before.
Thanks! Glad I asked, I honestly hadn’t understood that 😂
Honestly have no experience here, but is this at all worth a look if you aren’t paying for YT? I’ve considered reshuffling/reducing the subscriptions I have and Spotify is probably the one I’m most attached to.
Stumbled upon it not too long ago but hadn’t yet determined it important enough for me to use yet. But I can see the tech stack looks like something I could get back into. If a fork starts I might finally move my lazy ass to do a PR here or review there. I’ll keep an eye out on it
Interesting! I did not know any of this. Sort of confirms my impression which I should have framed differently: the other candidates are so niche that the rest of the world has no clue
This thread mostly shows how broken the democratic system in the US is, not that she did anything wrong. Try coming to a real democracy with many parties and coalitions being formed. They actually thrive on dissent, finding compromise and collaborating for the greater good ;)
This is why it’s so important to support independent news outlets. E.g. Kyiv Independent in Ukraine or Zetland in Denmark. I’m fine paying for independent journalism that’s really well made. But not for copy-pasted propaganda.
I mean we’re not buying this stuff any longer but I’m surprised coke seems to be more expensive in the US than it is in Denmark?!?
