Im not really sure about the update part but Moxie himself is hesitant to release it outside of play store and signal website. Even GOS dev isnt really a fan of fdroid from what i read at GOS forum.

It really depends on youe threat model. What im trying to say is, if youre really want to make sure. Download from signal website and let the app update it self next time. No middle man.

Signal is not distributed outside Play store and signal own website. If you downloaded from F-droid, its probably from Guardian repo.

If you download it from play store, signal will update through play store. If you download it from signal, it will update through itself. If you download it Guardian repo, it’s basically the same downloading from signal website, it will update it self.

The thing you can do is just basically turn off the update notification and just update it from guardian repo. Or just disable the guardian repo and let the signal update itself.

I used to do that but windows 10 ltsc. Now i just restored from system image. I do a fresh install, install all the drivers, tweak anything that needed tweaking. Then, i made a full image backup. Once in blue moon if my windows is bork. I restored the system image.

Im running fedora atm but its not all sunshine, sometimes when installing from software centre. It just hang at installing software. Bar not moving and i had to kill it manually and retry again.

Cant request one? Just buy a used, cheap, bottom of the barrel android phone for work purpose. Trust me, its worth it.

It’s a hassle handling two phone but for me its well worth it. Anything work related goes into that phone. I dont touch it once im clocked out. Disable every single app that are not work related.

Yeah. $20 for a year but i bought AG for $35 for 5 years. I got adguard blocker, vpn and personal dns to boot. Its on sale on something. Im a cheap bastard.

But Nextdns is a bit faster on DNS side. If the price werent so cheap. I’d stick with nextdns.

I dont understand that one bit but thats probably why my speed was slow when im connected to my home network through wireguard.

For example my mobile plan is around 100Mbps down and 30Mbps up. When im connected to my home network through wireguard. My mobile download speed crippled to my home network upload speed which is 50Mbps.

Is that normal? I read that its normal.

I mean. If my phone connected to my home network through wireguard, my phone download speed will be limited to my home network upload speed right since im connected to my home network?

Used it for a few months. Never had any problem but now moved to adguard DNS. Got a great deal for 5 years, way cheaper than nextdns when i pay yearly. Includes adguard adguard block, vpn and dns.

If both cost the same i would choose nextdns. Nextdns feels a little bit faster.

I dont like ControlD. The webui is a mess, for me personally. NextDNS webui is easier to understand.
