Compared to other pole vaulters all over the world. Yes, he won’t be swimming in money, but he is still #34 world ranked. There’s no definite number of all male pole vaulters in the world but even with a very rough 50k estimate he is not mediocre.

I get your point but I don’t think getting to the Olympics is considered being mediocre.
