How much time does one spend actually drinking?

If you really simplify a lot of the math, and even make fairly slow estimates on imbiption rates as ~1oz/sec, and assume everyone needs and is actually getting the old 8 16oz glasses a day, you get 10000 hours of ‘practice’ happening over 281250 days, or ~770.54 years.

What if we add the time you might take savoring wine, whisky etc.? I suppose swallowing is separate from swishing it around in your mouth, but I definitely managed to get some in the wrong pipe in the ‘swishing around’ stage more than once …

Even if you include an hour of ‘oral fluid handling practice’ every day, that’s 9656 days, or 26.4 years. Much more possible in a human lifespan, but that’s a lot of swishing.
